History

Established in 1996. We all must move for different reasons and unfortunately, more often than we would like to.As it happen when I first hired a mover (I won't mention any names, let their reputation speaks for itself) and have had a terrible experience I though that it was my fault: I was not ready for the move, I did not pack well, I had too many stairs, It was a hot day and so forth. It just hit me at the second time that I had a bad luck with a mover that maybe it wasn't me after all. Maybe, just maybe, they don't know better than to rip off their customers, break their items, ask for tips and be rude.I saw an opportunity to contribute something and help moving victims like me by getting involved in the industry. Although I had no experience as a mover what so ever, I dared to quit my Job as a designer and started working for a moving company. Sure I made many mistakes in the beginning, but none of the sort of the above mentioned.

The moving experience was the best. Uri and Amanda were here to help. They are professional and super careful about your items and home. I am five month pregnant, it's so great that We didn't need to touch a thing during the whole process.Also, the rate is transparent. They charge exactly as they quoted, even though we had more boxes than we listed.Definitely will recommend them to my family and friends!

We had an amazing experience moving from a small apartment in Manhattan to a home in NJ. From the beginning UMEX was very responsive. They were upfront about the cost and didn't sneak in any fees at the end of the day. On moving day, the 4 movers showed up early and completed the ENTIRE move in 2.5 hours. Every member of the crew was friendly and professional. We are still in shock thinking about how seamless and stress free our move was. We highly recommend UMEX to anyone moving in the NY/NJ area. I have moved several times in my life and this was by far the easiest move I have had. This is the second time I have used a professional mover and I was nervous that they would not show up as was the case in my earlier experience. I was impressed with how the company handled the quote, in-home walk through and how they promptly answered my questions via phone and/or email. On moving day, Denise and team (Denise, Kristian, Patrick, Paul) were effective and efficient. They took such great care with my furniture. They even recognized pieces that were rare and needed extra attention without me having to point them out. I highly recommend using this company to help with your move.

Uri and his crew moved us the first week in December from a 5 bedroom home in northern NJ to our new home in the Hudson Valley , over 100 mile relocation.I can't say enough about their professionalism, and efficiency. From the moment we received an on site proposal and guaranteed quote to the end of a two day overnight move, Uri and the entire staff were forthright, and solid. They were extremely careful with each piece of our furnishings, taking the time and care to wrap and unwrap. I could not have asked for a more thorough and efficient loading and unloading process. Multiple rooms, 2 trucks of lifelong furnishings , and not one item damaged or abused. Everything down to set up upon arrival to cleanup.The team went above and beyond to take an extra large Armoire up a tight turning 2 story stairwell.The cost was right in the middle of 3 received proposals, and well worth the stress and anxiety off our shoulders that was evident within the first 15 minutes of their in time arrival.My thanks to Umex. A life changing. , emotional move that could not have gone better. If ever we have a need to do this again ( something I still do not look forward to) there is no doubt who I would call , once again Frank & Kathy

This is the second time I have used Umex, They are very good. The team that comes is very energetic and do not grumble at all. They have been chatty and fun to work with. The packing happens in a flash and very good, I have not had a single item break. Plus the prices are very reasonable. The last time I called 10 companies to get quotes, this time I called only Umex.Mary & Uri and their team are uber awesome :) Definitely, will recommend them to my family and friends and anyone who wants to move!
