First of all, I would like to thank the other Yelp reviewers for everything mentioned in their feedback about Top Hat. I found them on Yelp, and based on all the great reviews, decided to give them a shot. Everything said was incredibly accurate, and now I'll tell you a little bit about my experience. I called Robert hoping to gather a little information on what's involved when you use a moving company, costs, times, etc..., as I had never used one before. He took the time right then to break down all the details for me, which I was really appreciative of. He also let me know up front that the balance due is typically paid in cash, and the suggested tipping policy is $10/man/hour. This was all foreign to me so I had no idea if that was low or high, but we rolled with it (later deemed to be 1000% worth it). I put the down payment on my credit card and hoped for the best.The day before the move he sent me an email just confirming, and giving me some contact information on who would be arriving the next morning in the truck. I called Andre, the foreman, the next morning and he gave me a full update on who should be arriving when and how soon he'd be there with the truck. The guys were extremely friendly and professional. They did a fantastic job moving efficiently and carefully, and they checked with me on if I wanted any particular things wrapped or if there were very fragile items anywhere. All in all to move 2 bedrooms and a kitchen they moved extremely quickly - 3 hours door to door. I should mention I was moving into a 6 floor walk up, and now you see why I hired movers.  They asked me where I wanted things, how I wanted it set up, if I wanted anything shifted, and if I liked where everything was. I really can't stress enough how great the team was, certainly worth every penny spent. I pray that I won't have to move again for quite some time because it's such a royal pain in the ass. But if I have to, you better believe I'm calling Top Hat back to take care of it. Thank you guys!

I had a small--very small--job to be done: carrying a dozen boxes and a few clothes-filled garbage bags up two flights of stairs. Sometimes getting movers to handle jobs like mine is a greater problem than finding someone to move a large load.Robert at Top Hat was super-responsive and responsible from my first contact with him to the successful conclusion of the job. At various times he made a point of checking in with me and fine-tuning the details, such as assuring that his two guys arrived at a mutually satisfactory time. If the world was run the way that Robert runs his business, we'd all be a great deal happier--and saner. Highly recommend Top Hat!

I highly recommend Top Hat Movers, and would work with them again!What should I say - we could not be happier! Robert's crew where the most professional movers we ever worked with. We engaged a couple of different movers in the past 10 years, incl. movers in other countries (Germany) None of them were as prompt and courteous ad the guys from Top Hat Movers. We had not ONE SINGLE damage or scratch. We moved a 2 beds with furniture and 50+ boxes (incl. lots of larger kids toy items). ALL furniture was packed into heavy moving blankets. No single screw got lost. Rate is perfectly fine and transparanet for the quality we got. Moving crew was experienced, professionally equipped, worked in perfect speed, yet had the extra time for some little chat here and there. All in all, moving is a stressful PITA - with the help from Robert's team, we had a pefect start into our new place! Thanks !!

Top Hat Movers are awesome! We recently moved from an upstairs apartment to the downstairs apartment within the same Park Slope townhouse. While this seemed like an easy move, Top Hat's crew treated it like we were moving to another state. Our belongings were carried downstairs with the utmost care. Furniture was wrapped, electronics were padded and protected, etc. The best part was that Top Hat provided us with big plastic bins to move our things so that we didn't have to assemble and disassemble a ton of boxes for our move. Robert couldn't have been more helpful. I emailed him many times throughout the process and my correspondence was always met with a fast reply. The three hours we were quoted for the move ended up being more like 2 1/2 hours. The crew that he sent were awesome. They were great, funny guys and totally respectful of our needs. We're hoping that we won't have to move again for a long time. But if we do, we know who we will call. Thanks Top Hat!

I found Top Hat on Yelp due to their high rating so I decided to pay it forward by writing my own 5 star review. The owner, Robert, is incredibly personable and responsive. He wasn't able to be there on the day of my move but made sure to text me throughout the day to make sure all was going well. The 5 movers were very professional, friendly, efficient and careful. In addition, the cost for 5 movers came out to be pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend and use Top Hat again (although the idea of moving again makes my head spin...). Moving can be overwhelming- take a little of the stress out by hiring Top Hat.
