I moved out of an apartment three weeks before moving into a new one and the guys were incredibly helpful and friendly! We paid exactly the price we were quoted even when being somewhat unprepared upon their arrival. No hidden fees, a first! They lose one star because our move into the new apartment was not properly scheduled so when I called the owner of the company was able to get the same guy to come a few hours later at last minute notice and for a discounted price. I recommend calling a few days in advance of the move to confirm. I highly recommend requesting Cesar to assist with your move. He was incredibly helpful and made the whole process far less stressful for both moves. And the free storage was a huge perk!

We move from Upper West to UWS and the team of 4 friendly guys was great! They were very organized, quick and efficient! I would definitely use TLC again.Everything arrived in perfect shape! I am very satisfied of this company and would use it again without a doubt!

I wish i could give them zero stars.I had had TLC arrange my move from New York to Washington State. They very very helpful in the beginning, always returning my calls, promising me that everything will arrive in perfect condition and that I can pick what day to schedule my delivery at the final destination. They came, packed up my things quickly and were on their way.It was when they had all my belongings and my deposit that things took a turn for the worse. They would NOT give me an ETA on my items, then when they arrived in seattle, they said that I had no choice of when my items will be delivered, that they will deliver it when they want to. I spoke to Omar on the phone and once he had all my items and my money he was rude and uncooporative. They refused to return any of my calls. They then told me they gave all my items to a second shipper and would charge me an extra $500. I asked who this shipper was and they said "I don't know" for a week i had no idea where my items were or if i'd ever see them again. When i told them it was rediculous to just charge an extra fee without notifying me, they said, well then you won't get your items.Finally i just paid so my items wouldn't be held hostage anymore. Part of my bed was missing, as well as 2 boxes of items. Worse off, a chair that i told them was very fragile and expensive was completely destroyed.I have been trying to get a hold of them to reimburse me for the damage but they are completely MIA.Whatever you do. DO NOT use TLC. I am an interior designer and therefore have worked with MANY moving companies, and this is the worse i have ever seen. There are some other great options out there that i have worked with like Schleppers, Trixie's, Aequitas, Dennis Taylor, and OZ moving that have been much better than TLC.

My family was moving within Brooklyn but since we have a newborn and tons of stuff, my husband and I decided to just suck it up and hire movers.We went with TLC on a friend's recommendation who, in their defense recommended we move the fragile stuff ourselves but they were cheap and fine for the big stuff. I'm GLAD we LISTENED! We rented a U-haul for the fragile/important stuff and TLC took the rest. They managed to destroy an oak chest of drawers that has survived a number of moves and was in GREAT shape! And their response? Yeah, during the drive over (uh...all 5 blocks?) things sometimes shift. They also managed to:- Scratch our newly installed hardwood floors- Be downright rude to one of my NEW neighbors (not OK in a Coop)- Take an hour to get from point A to point B (did I mention the move was 5 total blocks?!?! and we held the parking in front so that was NOT the issue)- but the WORST part is I know WHY they took so long....they stopped to Smoke UpThe smell of POT coming off the movers AND MY STUFF was enough to give me a contact high!!! They TOOK FOREVER to unload (hummm...wonder why?). We told them our coop has rules that we need to be done by 5pm...well after their hour-long trip to our new space they weren't done until close to 7pm (when our new neighbors came to "remind" us of the coop rules...well that's when the movers were rude to her).Anyway, based on the "care" they showed the boxes we packed I'm relieved that we had done the important/fragile stuff on our own.We complained to the management company about these issues...we were told "Oh these things happen" and the pot-smell? They basically were like "You can't prove anything" I don't recommend them

We needed to move out of our condo for a major renovation.  I have heard many NYC moving horror stories over the years and was dreading the move.  A neighbor who had recently moved referred us to TLC and was raving about TLC's high quality service.   After two moves by TLC we can't say enough good things about them.When we moved into a temporary apartment TLC took half of our belonging to their storage facility.  They first loaded the items going to storage, took me to the truck and explained how the volume of stored goods was calculated.We did our own packing for both moves.  The 4 man crew FLEW through our apartment wrapping furniture and large mirrors, boxing loose items and loading the truck.  I was very happy with the first move...and AMAZED at the second move.  In, out, organized, polite, hard working...amazing.  The would not let us touch a thing, every box and piece of furniture right where we wanted it as they unloaded. We have heard stories about movers disappearing for 1-2 hours with a truck filled with you goods...and refusing to unload until you have paid some outrageous additional fee in cash.  The first move was a set price based on an hour estimate that took less time than expected so they reduced the fee.  The second move was paid straight hourly and was even faster than the first.  A bill was presented after all work was completed and was fully explained. Credit card accepted so no messing with cash or cashiers check.We had one broken plate that was not well packed.  One plate.  Everything from storage was in good shape.I have no connection to TLC.  Honestly, I am just a TOTALLY SATISFIED CUSTOMER.  I would use TLC again without hesitation and give them my highest recommendation.  If you are moving CALL TLC!!!!
