We had a seamless move today with Matt and Larry from Sven's. Great rates, transparent process and confirmation a few days prior. The morning of the move they showed up 10 minutes early which was great and were super nice and put us at ease. They were incredibly fast and efficient. So fast that it took less than 2 hours but we had a 3 hour minimum. Honestly I don't care because it was excellent service and we were happy to be done with the move!I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again in a future move as though I hope that isn't for a long time!

Matt and Shawn just did an awesome job packing my Uhaul U-Box in the blazing nyc heat! They were on time, communicative, professional, careful, and fast/efficient. I highly recommend requesting Matt if you're worried about space - he was unbelievable at making everything fit into just one U-box.Prices were super reasonable since they don't require a big minimum like many other movers.I was able to get a certificate of insurance (COI) from them ($20 extra), and all email communication leading up to the move was smooth and easy.Highly recommended!

I used this service to move a mile from my place in 2012 so I decided to use them again recently. Unfortunately since I had to travel across boroughs I had a totally different experience this time. I was given 2 men @ $85 per hour + $50 travel fee + $30 for stairs at both places (it's a fair price that wasn't the issue).Another pro:* Both times the guys were or seemed nice and efficient However, this time:* The truck was late although the first guy (Larry) was there on time waiting and having a smoke. It arrived at 9:20 (20 minutes late). I was worried because I had to get somewhere after noon.* I told them I had ~25 boxes, I actually had less. However, since there was space I asked whether they could fit a nightstand. This seemed ok but I think the driver got frustrated about going up and down the stairs (the men weren't in great shape I was actually worried that they would've been able to lift everything). I also stupidly didn't realize the stoop counted as stairs at the first place (my fault).* I had 5 bags of clothing, part of the quote, that they tried to take last but the main guy told me that I had loose items and that it was bringing my rate up. I panicked and decided to leave them behind (I should have been adamant of them taking it since this was an hourly job).* They had some of the main boxes, my dresser, nightstands and tables and 2 suitcases in the van by 9:45 and confirmed the address to our new location. I also thought I had to get more cash (good thing I didn't) although the driver said I was already at $129. *My bf and I decided to drive off before them. Once we went around the block, we realized we made an amateur error where we decided to double back to make sure they left. We waited and waited. We were still shocked they were there 5 minutes after we went. I bet him that they would leave at 10:15-10:20. Sure enough, that's when they decided to leave (hourly rate right?).* I got to the place and sure enough, they got there at 11:20. I asked how the drive was, the driver said he was stuck behind a garbage truck on the way up (right).* They counted the first 3 steps of my new place as a flight, so I was charged an additional $30 which I saw when I asked for an itemized receipt. I even helped them to move the boxes out of the truck to my place because I had an appointment to get to.I still tipped each guy $50 each although I really thought the driver/main guy, Sean, ripped me off. I emailed the owner to get an itemized list of what I paid for (ended up being ~$446). He also believed his workers over my experience with them. He said I had loose items (regardless if I did, if you're paying hourly it shouldn't matter and my "loose" items were in bags). I also told him I saw the movers smoking (saw smoke coming out of the windows) while I was waiting out of view.If you use this service, take photos.* Take photos of your load* Take photos of your stairs (if you have any. A flight = 9+ steps)* Make sure they leave before you do (It sucks that you can't trust people to be honest)I ended up renting a UHAUL the next day (something I was avoiding). Thankfully since I had to get things to donation anyway, the UHAUL came handy but it was frustrating being in my new place with no clothes which should have been there!

Great job! This company was referred to me. I requested help only with the unloading of a truck to a fifth floor walk up. The two gentlemen arrived on time and worked professionally. Highly recommend.

I got quotes from nearly 10 moving companies and Sven came in with the best price by far. They were a third of the price of the first company that I contacted. I trusted their positive reviews here on Yelp and decided to go with Sven. I was not disappointed! They were very professional through the entire process and did a great job helping us move. They were friendly, careful, and quick. You can trust Sven!
