Considering that this was our first time ever using a moving company to handle our move, I was very pleased with the overall experience. This was an in-state move and we were assigned one large truck based on the amount of items we had to move from a 3 bedroom home. I compared other company rates and with my husbands company discount, Suddath was very reasonably priced. Many things were included in the price and even though the move took longer than expected...we were not charged a penny more. My floors and walls were protected from damage and dirt. Nothing was damaged or missing. My only complaint is that the available space in the truck was underestimated and my outdoor furniture did not fit. However, the company sent another truck to pick those items up the very next day. This team has a lot of experience and was very flexible and understanding when my closing dates were changed last minute. The movers were very polite and accommodating. They asked questions instead of making assumptions and even brought boxes to pack large pictures, tv's, and loose items from the garage and my hanging clothes in the closets. No extra charge! I would not hesitate to use this company again. I don't think it gets much better!

I wish I could give this company a zero stars!!! I was relocated for work from San Francisco to New York this summer. Unfortunately my company picked Suddath as a moving company and I got stuck in this situation. First- they were over 6 hours late to my pickup time in San Francisco. You can imagine how panicked I was as I had a flight leaving the next morning. They finally rolled in at 4:00pm after it was scheduled for an early morning pack and load. The packing itself was extremely rushed. The movers were courteous and worked hard but they also almost left leaving an entire room unpacked (bathroom). Fortunately I caught this before they left the apartment. Scheduling a dropoff for my items in New York was very difficult. I gave over 3 weeks notice for when i'd like my items dropped off (after they had already been in transit for +1 month)- they quoted me getting my stuff 2 weeks later. I complained saying I already hadn't had a bed/furniture etc for 7 weeks- I couldn't wait longer. They were able to push the drop off a week earlier. They wrapped each item in so much paper it filled my entire living room. It took over 2 weeks to come pick up all the excess paper/boxes. They lost at least one box and damaged three furniture items. They have been unresponsive and extremely irresponsible. I filed a claim over a month ago and have yet to hear back on if they have found my boxes/will replace broken items. Unfortunately the boxes lost were brand new kitchen items- so I've been eating off of  paper plates etc for the last month.Still no response back on the claim...I would stay far far far away from this moving company.

I tipped my building Superintendant $50 to move the sofa inside my apartment, which he did right away. So in the end, the sofa did fit my apartment after all even though the mover said it would not fit and then promptly proposed taking my $2000 sofa as a "favor" to me.

I had furniture to ship from Brazil to New York, and Suddath were the local moving company in liaison with the Brazilian one (Transworld). They were professional and attentive from beginning to end. The consultant kept me informed of the progress every step of the way and gave clear instructions for completing additional documents. The crew arrived on time and did an excellent job of bringing and setting up the furniture. Everyone was extremely kind and reassuring. Highly recommended.

Terrible experience with Suddath! We used them to move from Switzerland back to NY. I was under the impression that Suddath would give us professional serviceWe had just bought our furniture from B&B Italia, which is high quality and expensive.When things arrived here, a lot was broken and missing. Things were packaged improperly. I am not talking just on or two pieces but they managed to "Lose" 9 out of 10 dining chairs, a chaise, a large and very expensive lamp, all hardware and supportive beams of a dining table, a large table (which has actually magically turned up), no legs on a large coffee table render it unusable, wooden shelves broken thus unusable and many other things.It sounds crazy but believe me I'm not exaggerating.No one from the company ever bothered to call us and apologize or explain, all I was told is that there had been some mismanagement, no kidding!Now they want to give up lump sum insurance money that doesn't even cover 1/10th of what it would cost to replace the furniture that was mostly custom made, for instance, a "set" of dining chairs is reimbursed as one piece rather that each piece individually !My last hope is that the warehouse in New Jersey has some kind of liability insurance that will cover our losses, or that there will be a criminal investigation that may uncover what has happened here.They are unprofessional and sloppy and should not be used under any circumstances.
