NY Shipping

I just moved from New York City to Oslo, Norway, and used NY International Shipping as my movers.  When selecting a moving company, I had four different companies come to my house and give me quotes.  Wayne from NY Int Shipping came for my site-quote and he was just fantastic and very knowledgeable.    I give this company my very highest compliments and highly recommend them!My move was seamless, efficient, and in every way a fantastic experience!  I highly recommend using NY International Shipping if you have an international move.The pack-up of my furniture and personal items was so well-done.  The moving crew was respectful of my items, and also made sure to pack lighter objects within cabinets and whatnot so that I could save money because of the cost-of-volume calculation.  NY Intl Shipping gave me free storage for a whole month as we waited for my visa to process.  All of my communications with Wayne and Nidhi from the company were excellent - they responded right away and put up with all of my crazy questions (this was my first - and hopefully only - international move and I was quite stressed about it!)    On the tail-end when my furniture arrived in Norway, it was in excellent condition, I was given clear estimates of the arrival date, and the movers unpacked every single item and removed the boxes and packing material.I highly, highly recommend NY International Shipping and am very thankful to all involved in the move (especially Wayne and Nidhi)!

I do not recommend this company at all, I had a lot of problems with them. When I first asked, they told me that my one-bedroom furniture would take 5 weeks from the Us to the UK, but only after I payed a 1k deposit they updated that estimate to 8-10 weeks. But even that was not nearly close. In the end it took more than 15 weeks. On top of that, the communication with their logistics team was terrible, they almost never answered my emails. After I payed I didn't hear form them in two months, until the moving team showed up to pick up my stuff I was not sure if they were coming.To top that, many things arrived damaged.The only good thing was the moving team, very friendly and efficient.

Please don't roll the dice with this company. While I understand long distance movers use subcontractors for pieces of the move, the company with whom you book should be responsible for ensuring the quality of those contractors. This company obviously does not, given the wide range of reviews here, which I can only assume is due to the quality of different subcontractors.I was initially very pleased with the customer service I received, but as soon as I signed a contract, it went quickly downhill. That is however nothing compared to the damage done to my belongings during the move. During my move from NY to TX, the following damage was done to my furniture: an antique chair and a kitchen cart were both damaged beyond repair; my dining table, 3 dining chairs, and coffee table all sustained significant cosmetic damage; and a dresser and antique magazine rack both sustained significant structural damage. I was truly shocked by how poorly my furniture was handled. I booked moving insurance through the company they recommended to me, and 3.5 months later, I am still waiting for my claim to be processed.

We had a really bad expiriance with them!!!!!!! they will say one price and than take it up.took me 2 months to get it all my things also had lots of problem  to get my container in the contry I moved to.

We used them to move from NJ to CT and they were great! Rosalyn Nailes was a pro and we didn't make it easy on her with adding/deleting contents and even switching the delivery location. Such a pleasant person to work with.Abraham, Noe and Billie were prompt, clean and fast with no damage done to our stuff. They were a blast to work with and treated my 3 yr old great who was constantly in the way. We will use them again for sure!
