This is bullshit that Yelp has HIDDEN the positive reviews of this company. And its case with so many company 1 question ? Why is yelp highlighting a negative review from a person who had  never been to yelpAnd Hiding positive review from person who had given 11 different reviews.Lets see if they hide this review too.Totally not sure if the movers im choosing ( northeast ) are good or bad in this case.Yelp Totally messed up my decisions, why this company has to thrive on other persons bread to rise and shine ?

Someone named Michael Boston called us and scheduled our  same day pick up and delivery with a quote. The night before the scheduled date, he called and said that the pick up crew is busy and would rather move a different day if possible. They knew that our lease was up and we had to move. So after much debate. They agreed to come the scheduled date and  time.       Moving day: They were supposed to arrive at 9 am. They arrived at 4 pm. They did not bother to call or update us. After arriving, we were told that the quote was not applicable as we were having same day delivery. Although same day delivery had been discussed multiple times with Michael on the phone, the crew that came were under the impression that they did not have to deliver the same day. They said they could deliver the same day if we paid them another $600. At this point we did not have much of a choice but to agree, as they had already packed most of the stuff in the truck and we had limited time to make any other arrangements. Also our lease was over the next day.     While they were packing our stuff, I specifically asked them to use quilts to protect the furniture. This had also been discussed with Michael who said that they had quilts to protect the furniture. When they arrived, they had nothing to protect our furniture. We gave them quilts that we had. They did not bother using them even though I asked multiple times.     At the end of the pick up, they decided they couldn't take the last few boxes because it had started to rain. So we had to load our stuff into our own car to deliver. (what's the point of hiring movers, if they aren't going to move our stuff?).    We arrived at the delivery location at around 10 pm. They started unloading. And told us they would not unload the rest until we gave them the rest of the money in cash. We had to go look for an ATM while they held our belongings hostage. At this point one cannot disagree, they know where you live, and they have all your stuff. We gave them the money. They resumed unloading our things. They dropped 3-4 of our boxes, lots of our pots and pans are disfigured. They woke up our new neighbors because they were careless in carrying our things. Our dining table has scratches, our buffet table had huge scratches.         We called Michael to discuss what happened during our move. He didn't answer, and didn't both to call us back.    North Eastern took complete advantage of us while we were in a vulnerable state.  They charged us much more than the quote.  Our furniture is damaged, our neighbors don't like us because of all the ruckus they caused during the move, they took more money than agreed. It was disheartening to start a new life on a new place with NorthEast. They made our start to a new place very depressing and miserable.

If it were an option, I would give North East Movers negative stars. After relocating around the Boston, MA area for the past 10 years, I have never experience a more upsetting experience than I have with North East Movers. As everyone knows, moving is a stressful process, especially as I was planning a relocation from Boston, MA to Detroit, MI. I have never written a review on Yelp but my experience with this moving company has made it utterly impossible for me to not want to scream from the roof tops how inappropriate, unprofessional and phony this company truly is. I worked with one of their entry level sales associates and went over in detail a list of my inventory. He quoted me around $1400 for the pick up, loading, driving and unloading in MI. A few days prior I called him back to add a few additional items as I wanted to be extremely detailed and know what I would be paying. He adjusted the quote. I was told I needed to give a 3 day window and would not know when the movers were coming until 24 hours prior. As the move got closer I realized I needed the movers to be there on the Saturday. After realizing that North East Movers outsources to a different company, Century Movers, I spoke with a few representatives and pleaded with them to confirm my move for Saturday. Six calls later, I spoke with someone to told me for an additional $250.00 the company "pull some strings" and confirm my move for Saturday. I accepted and was willing to pay the additional fee. The movers arrived on Saturday, as planned, and began loading my furniture. After 3 hours and my apartment completely packed, the head mover showed me the truck and everything was packed. He pointed out that my belongings were actually twice the allotted size of the quoted inventory. He showed me the new price and it was 3x the amount I was quoted. At this point, there was not much I could do. I needed to be in Michigan and did not have time to argue over how terribly I had been misquoted. It took about 16 business days for my things to be delivered to Michigan and about 14 calls to Century Movers to get an update. This company gave me a different answer each and every time I called. I have contacted the sales associate and his manager 3 times so far to try and get a refund for how badly I had been misquoted. I never heard back and am certainly thinking about taking further steps to be reimbursed. I urge you to rethink this moving company and do research, as I wish I did.

They don't move your stuff. They lowball a quote, take a heft deposit, then outsource your move to another company (Century Moving in my case). That other company then has to complete your move for the lowball quote amount LESS the hefty deposit, which is completely unrealistic for them. So they are left to basically scam you out of more money. Our experience: We booked a move with these guys. Pickup was fine, and the guys were nice. Then there were major delays on the delivery side, so I called my rep at North East. "Sorry he's out on vacation - call back in May (this was mid-march)". In MAY? He's on vacation for THREE MONTHS? "Yep." Did he have a baby? "He's gone until May". No more info was ever given. I've e-mailed him several times, no response. They will take your money, send the job to someone else, and then wash their hands of any/all responsibility. Run.

Completely unprofessional. I mistakenly made reservations with this company, being very specific as to the day needed for moving. The woman needed a 2 day window and insisted on a 2 day window while assuring me that the move will be on the day needed. Well i received a call from their dispatcher who argued with me about how the reservation was made and wanted to do the move on a day i was not available. He then proceeded to tell me that there was a finance charge of 6% to pay with a credit card when its supposed to be 3% and also that the tolls were to come out of my pocket, the guys would be assigned to me for 6hrs and would cost 150/hr after. When he finally agreed to do the move on the day i needed he wouldn't give me a time. Only said i would get a call the day before and the move will happen at some point on the day i needed without a time frame. Needless to say i found a moving company that has much better customer service, doesn't lie about pricing and is actually cheaper.
