Pros:1) Easy to get in touch with.  Phone was answered every time I called, by a polite, helpful person.  Email was replied to nearly immediately.  Quote is in email form, so you have it in writing.2) Flexible - we changed the itinerary twice, and they were fine about switching things up.3) They brought a GINORMOUS rental truck that fit my, and my bf's stuff, easily.  4) The guys really worked hard to get all of our stuff up a 3rd floor walk-up with a sloped ceiling and hairpin turn.  Our stuff was 98% undamaged.  Even the 2 pieces of furniture that turned out to be too big were not given up on until 2-3 attempts had been made.5) CHEAP.  Our quote was $450, 2 guys, 1 truck, 4 hours (minimum), 1 extra stop.  We used them for 6 hours.  It was $650 total, to move 2 apartments of stuff (1 in Chelsea, 1 in Bay Ridge) to 1 central location (Park Slope).Cons:1) They were 2.5 hours late.2) Not exactly gentle.  They are better for people with cheap furniture.

TL;DR: This is not the "Man With a Van" that you are looking for.  Run, quickly, in another direction.-------I have never been so burned before in my life.  First of all, just like probably everyone else who is leaving a review, I thought I was booking the actual Man With a Van, not this rip-off company.  Next, they actually seemed very nice over the phone, and relatively responsive by email, even when we had to change our move to one day earlier because of unexplained complications.  They gave us a 1-3 p.m. window and assured us that the movers would be there as close to 1 p.m. as possible.  The day of the move came, my girlfriend and I had fully finished packing and at 1 p.m. were sitting around and waiting for the movers.At 1:45 p.m. I called to find out if the movers were close.  I was assured that they were "close to the vicinity" but stuck in traffic on the parkway (unclear which parkway).  I called again at 2:05 p.m., and then 2:30 p.m., and then every 5 minute thereafter.  Initially I was told that the person would call me back as soon as they found out where the movers were, and then a different person told me the same thing, and then they just stopped picking up the phone.  So my girlfriend called from her phone.  They told her they would call her back and that the movers should have called us already.  Then they stopped picking up her calls as well.  I also sent two emails.  At 4:50 p.m. we stopped trying to contact them.  The movers NEVER SHOWED UP. We had to change our move-in date, extend our lease by 2 days, and quickly find movers last-minute over the holiday weekend to move us in on a Sunday.  I am equal parts angry (largely at myself) and appalled at such absurd business practices.

Would give 0 stars if I could. They did not show up until EIGHT HOURS after they were scheduled! These guys were the absolute worst, and apparently not even the real Man with a Van! I booked about 3 weeks in advance, and the booking process seemed fine and easy. Moving day rolls around, and I get told that the movers will be a "little late" because the previous customer from the day before had an elevator issue. Okay, fine. Yet no one ever called me to follow up or give me an ETA...I had to call them and their driver what seemed like dozens of times. They were not apologetic or responsive. The driver I spoke to, Brian White, said he was stuck in traffic on Broadway and then Riverside Drive...for 2 hours?! Bet they found a better job and were just stringing me along. Finally at 7pm (after I had left voicemails for both the office and the driver saying don't bother), the driver has the NERVE to call me and say he's here! Who moves at 7pm?! Then when I said no he just says "No problem" like it's no big deal. I wasted a whole day (took the day off from work) for these losers. Fortunately I was able to book much better movers for today, and I'm all set now. I've learned my lesson. Fortunately they don't have any of my money, and they never will.

I have moved four times in NYC and this was a HORRIBLE experience. They offered the cheapest quote but showed up 4 hours late, complained the entire time, were absolutely unprofessional, impossible to get in touch with, and took forever to do an easy studio apt move. If I could do it again would gladly pay more to not go through a similar experience. I hope I can save you the frustration and hassle

Review for manwithavan.net - DO NOT BOTHER.Same as everyone else here. Booked well in advance, was sent a confirmation email that said I would receive the mover's information the night before. I did not, and their toll-free goes directly to voicemail. No show and no response to emails.
