If I could, I would give ZERO stars.  Worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life.  They called me the day of to say that they could no longer send a truck for my move.  They promised to send a truck one week later, so I paid extra to extend my current apartment lease.  They did not show up the following week, and when I called, they promised to come sometime in the next MONTH!  They were not willing to compensate us at all for our troubles, even though the issue was entirely their fault.  I canceled my move with this garbage company and am using a more reputable moving company.  Do not use Assurance Van Lines under any circumstances.  With such poor customer service and company policies, it is only a matter of time before they are out of business.

I am a customer service manager professionally and they have FAILED in my book. After calling me 5 times I wrote them an email asking to stop contacting me. I received a NASTY email back from Jordan Quinn. He claimed no one else contacted me although I had in fact received emails and 4 phone calls from this company!Quotes from him email:"   I have attempted to contact you ONE TIME (there is no one else here contacting you either) . I only work with serious clients and customers anyway" (LIES!)"So please do not contact ME anymore.""Good luck parting your move out, you will definitely need it!"Just plain rude and nasty! Is this is how they treat their potential customers imagine how they will treat your belongings! Go with another company, in my opinion these people are not worth dealing with!!!PS- they have FAKE reviews on other sites. You can tell they are removing the reviews from Yelp due to the fact that there are only 3 currently. Other moving companies have well over 100! Take this into account- shady liars!2/19/16- 3 calls a voicemail and an email AGAIN today

Operating under the name Assurance Van Lines - "Christopher Robbins" sounded cheery and professional, offering multiple discounts for Veterans, etc.  Spent about a half hour inventorying what will be moved, approx dimensions and/or weight, and then gave me an awesome price, with a breakdown of deposit, and the exact cash (or cashier's check) I would need to have at each end of the move.  A second person called within a couple of days, did another extensive inventory with me.  They use an email contract system that rushes you, "sign here and here, and here.."  locking you into using their "company" with a hefty deposit.  On moving day, a crew shows up, shakes your hand, and sets about packing and loading your things.  One person wanders the home, waited until I was out of the room, then tried to get my girlfriend to sign a "new estimate - no big deal, routine stuff, just sign here!'  Fortunately she refused, told me what he was doing.  I approached him, and he started with shuffling papers, saying that we need to accept the "new estimate".  He pointed all over the page, at various numbers, but I noticed the box that said "Final Estimate", which happened to be roughly double the quoted price.  I cut him short, pointed that out, and he said, well, yes, that is the new estimate.  I asked how that was possible, since we had reduced our load by three large items from the original inventory, yet the final charge is still double the original estimate?  He started to say that they would "help me to understand" by breaking it down by weight or by cubic feet.  I told him that didn't make any difference, nobody had weighed anything, and neither had anyone measured anything to accurately document cubic feet.  He said, "well, that's the price, I could reduce it by a few hundred" (still nearly $2000 higher than the original quote).  I said no, that he must abide by the initial quote, or put my stuff back into my house.  He stated that we had been talking to Assurance Van Lines, not his company, and that he would not honor the original estimate. I told him to immediately get my stuff out of the truck, and put it all back.  I called Assurance, spoke to Vanessa, who put me on "terminal" hold, not even making an effort to talk.  I told a worker to stop taking stuff apart, that they were done, and that they had to leave.  The lead guy started to yell at me, saying "don't you tell my guys what to do!  I tell them what to do!"  I told him to get out of my house.  He started getting in my face, yelling "You don't know who you are dealing with!!"  I spun around, told my girlfriend to call the cops.  He said "Ya, you go ahead and call the cops!" He did start removing my things from the van.Vanessa never did talk to me.  We went to Uhaul, rented a big truck, did the move ourselves.  I cancelled payment on my credit card, but they have rebilled me for $815 deposit. What do they do?  They bait you with a wildly lowball estimate, take your money, lock you into a contract with them, then email your information to a half dozen moving companies.  All that for $800.  What a deal.  You could have called any one of them and probably have gotten an honest estimate.  I intend to turn this over to the BBB, as well as the AG, to see if I have a leg to stand on.  I was stupid to let myself be hurried through signing a mulitpage contract that I had difficulty reading.Don't let this happen to you.  Avoid Assurance Van Lines at all cost.

Would not recommend this company at all. I made a move from Houston, TX to Chicago, IL and they originally quoted me $1,100 bucks for the move which I should've known was to good to be true. TJ Nobrega reached out to me and tried to inform me to be careful of moving companies since some of them broker out the move and he informed me that they did not. Well the mover showed up to my place and it was a different company meaning they are a broker.TJ also told me on the phone that it should only take 2-3 days for my items to get to Chicago and I scheduled the pick up for Jan. 2nd 2016 anticipating for the move to come on Jan 5th at the latest. Well I didn't receive my items until Jan 12th. Which was 10 days more than what I was told. After my items arrived the 18 wheeler that came could not fit down my street, that was not the companies fault but they wanted to charge me $750 to unload it into a U-haul and bring it into the house for me. These guys are crooks and want to get any money they can out of you. WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I found the staff super friendly and helpful. I was super worried about how complicated I thought it would be to do a cross country move on my own, the prospect was SO daunting! But I am very glad my friend referred me to Assurance Van Lines. From the get go they had a great straight forward price, and I had no issues with the price going up after the move at all. The movers I worked with were careful and professional. I seriously was astounded with how efficient they were and none of my stuff was broken or damaged or lost at the other end. I'm so glad I called these guys for my big move to NY and I recommend them highly!
