We found L&L through a friend's referral, and were SO glad we did. Doug was so quick to reply to my inquiry and came by to give me an in-person estimate (took 2 minutes!). They were accommodating with my move-out date and were able to give me the details I needed to organize my move with my building in town. The moving day -- I worry about everything, and they made our move from Hoboken to the burbs as stress-free as possible. They were quick, had a system for working together, and were careful with my belongings. The move ended up being less $$ than we were quoted, and we were so happy with how everything went. I highly recommend L&L for your move!

I used L & L for a move within North Jersey.  I would have given them 5 stars because the movers themselves were very professional and worked efficiently.  However, when I called to reserve I worked with the owner Doug.  Doug was very personable and easy to talk to before I agreed to reserve them for my move.  Doug gave me an hourly fee and then told me that there would not be any other charges.  He did not send me anything in writing so I can refer to which would have been helpful.  When the moving day arrived, he called me at 6AM and told me that because of "truck issues" they would not make it at 8AM as scheduled.  I had previously read on yelp that this has happened before so I had a feeling he was lying to me and that they had taken another job before me.  My suspicions were confirmed when the driver had called me and told me they were finishing up from their other job and on their way.  There was no mention of truck trouble but that they simply had moved up the job they had scheduled after me.  Doug knew that we were on a time crunch.  When it came time to pay, the movers had told me that they charge an additional 30 minutes for travel, which Doug did not mention.  They also wrote that they had arrived at 9:30AM when my phone records clearly showed they had called me at 9:30AM to tell me they were finishing up their other job.  I was then charged for an additional COI which I was not told about until the day of.  While the actual move was clean, I wouldn't use them again due to their dishonesty and their lack of clarity.

So easy, so quick!!!My gf and I moved on a Saturday morning, and we were completely moved in under 3 hours with just two guys. Everything was handled with care, and the guys were true pros. Not to mention they both had a very pleasant demeanor and sense of humor for 7:30 in the AM! As for the price, I did a lot of calling around and comparing, and L&L had the best prices too. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but Doug gave us a fair price and the end result was better than we could've imagined.All in all, I highly recommend L&L if you're moving in or around the Hoboken area. Shoutout to Ed & Brian - you guys rock!

My stuff got moved, quickly, safely, and came in only about $30 over the initial estimate.  The process was kind of stressful though.  On the morning of the move, they seemed completely surprised by the amount stuff.  About a week earlier, a representative from the company came to give an estimate. On the morning, the crew seemed really stressed out about it, and called a supervisor, who basically scolded me on the phone, "Where did all the extra stuff come from?"  I'm just organized I guess, maybe it looked like less when it wasn't all packed up.  I don't know.  I felt so weird about it I basically ended up taking a lot of stuff and stashing it to move myself later.  They told me it was going to take a lot longer and they'd need another mover, which of course would cost more money, and because they only take cash, I had to make an ATM run.  I guess they called for another mover but maybe nobody was available, another one didn't end up coming.  When we got to my new building, they seemed annoyed that it was a fourth floor walk up, and again I was scolded, "What, you couldn't find an apartment on a lower floor?"  Yeah, I would have if I could have, but this is what I have and this is what we have to deal with.  I was very upfront when making the reservation that the new place was a fourth floor walk up.They also didn't like that I was using Bungo Boxes instead of cardboard, which I wish I knew was going to be a problem.  I thought it would've been helpful and I'm sorry I didn't know that.  This was absolutely my fault for not asking, but I wish it had been mentioned to me at some point.  For future reference: if you're moving to a building without an elevator, cardboard is the way to go, because they tie them together and can carry more at once. I think it's really shady that they don't take cards or checks, and again, having to run to the ATM mid-move really sucked.  I felt really bad that I didn't plan properly, but I wish that communication had been better in the planning and estimation phase, all these problems could have been avoided.

The L & L guys truly came to my rescue this weekend. The movers I hired cancelled on me at 11pm the night before. I called several places in the area and none were as accommodating as L&L. Doug was so helpful. Within about a half hour after the initial panicked phone call, he was at my apartment to give me an accurate estimate. He had a truck and 2 helpers at my apartment by 10am. They were so incredibly fast, careful and had great attitudes. The guys didn't complain about anything and had us laughing the whole time. Highly recommend! I will be using L & L for all future moves. Thank you guys!!
