Yep, I too bought a Groupon for this company. I contacted them about 3 weeks before the estimated move date via email. They responded right back with very helpful information on scheduling & executing the move through them. They requested a list of items to be moved, to & from locations, & exact dates & times from me. I wrote them back within a week with this info & also requested a confirmation...no reply. Wrote again...no reply. Finally, as the move date was approaching, I resorted to endless phone calls from different numbers with no answer or return calls, even after leaving voicemail messages about the upcoming move (on an answering machine with a less-than-professional message--they might as well have said "yo yo yo my peeps--we will move yo shit fo cheap, you know what i'm sayin'...". Meanwhile, I contact Groupon with my concerns but at this point it was only days before the move so I had to think of a plan b: rented a U-haul & picked up some day-laborers from the neighborhood. It was the best idea! They worked hard & fast & handled my items with care, not stopping for breaks or complaints. It turned out to be a better value considering how it turned out. $70/worker + $40 truck rental. Groupon refunded me in the form of a Groupon credit.DO NOT HIRE THIS SHADY-ASS, UNPROFESSIONAL GROUP OF WANNA-BE WORKERS, GROUPON OR NOT!

This is a Horrible Company!!!!  DO NOT USE THEM!!!!We bought a Groupon for them which was for four hours of moving.  It took us three weeks to get in contact with them; no one will answer the phone or return a message.  They do not even return e-mails!  We finally got them to agree to a moving day and the morning of our move they called to tell us that they no longer accept groupon because groupon voided their contract with them due to the large number of complaints.  They said we need to pay in cash or credit card.  I called groupon and confirmed that their contract was revoked.Groupon is also to blame for this.  They did not notify their patrons of the change or offer to return the money unless you call.Do yourself a favor, look for another mover and don't use JJ's Express Moving.  If you purchased a groupong call them to get your money returned.

The website says that they've been in business since 2006. Yeah right. This company is the biggest scam possible. On the day of the move they simply didn't show up. It's been days and I never got a response to my voicemails or emails. Groupon is a lot to blame as well. They continue making deals with the shadiest of the companies and this is what happens.

Completely agree with the other reviewers. I also bought a Groupon to move and let me just say... You get what you pay for.Unlike the first reviewer... my movers never even showed up. But maybe that's a good thing. The moving company never answers emails and never picks up the phone. It is impossible to get in touch with them. They told me I was confirmed for a Saturday move between 1-2 PM. And they never showed up. No one called to notify me of anything. I made over 30 calls to the company between 9 AM and 3 PM, left 4 messages and received nothing. I ended up renting my own truck and moving myself - NIGHTMARE.NEVER EVER hire this company. I am also extremely disappointed with Groupon for not checking the reputation of the companies it associates itself with.

After finding an offer on groupon.com for 6 hours of moving services, my fiancé and I used J.J's Express Moving. I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences of our lives.Before the move began, we carefully pointed out our most valued possessions (family heirlooms, expensive pieces of furniture, etc.). They ignored our request to cover any of these items and, consequently, they have damaged almost everything we own. Our antique wooden armoire was seen being pushed across the bed of truck without a moving blanket! Not only did they strip the finishing off the top of the piece, but a large hole was punched into the back and there are now several deep scrapes and gouges in the wood. Furthermore, several boxes clearly marked "Fragile" were placed under heavy boxes and crushed. The movers not only ignored my request to cover a white wood/glass cabinet, but they sloppily piled it onto a dolly with several other items. I watched in disbelief as everything fell off and rolled onto the streets of New York City!!!! The cabinet now looks like we found it in a dumpster. Unbelievably, our dining room table and all four chairs are also scuffed and damaged. To say I am heartbroken is an understatement.After this move, we made about 10 attempts to contact the company and they ignored us completely. After almost 2 weeks, we decided to call from a pay phone. Sure enough, they answered the call when they didn't recognize our number. There was no apology, and in fact the owner had the audacity to say we probably damaged our own furniture to collect the insurance money! Through this experience we've learned a valuable life lesson: You get what you pay for. NO MATTER WHAT, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. They have damaged the belongings we cherish most.
