I'm surprised at the negative reviews here so thought I would finally write one...I had held off doing so for one tiny thing that gnawed at me (will get to that later). But my overall experience with this company was positive.We moved from Manhattan to Queens last summer & had a great experience with I Move Green. I chose them because one of my worries about moving was the risk of picking up bed bugs...I had been hearing a lot about how they are easily transported through moving vehicles unless you buy all your own blankets, &/or if the company takes precautions, etc. I Move Green was the only company I found that had a whole procedure of bed bug prevention that I liked involving heat treating the vehicles & blankets before the move. So it was worth it to me for that. Plus I like that they were affiliated with a major co like Bekins. My communications with the office & my move consultant went well - they were accommodating, professional & clear.My movers rocked!! They were communicative, professional & efficient. My move clocked in at UNDER my estimate, which I really appreciated.Here's the tiny thing that got me. Okay some background - we were moving in the wake of a devastating family tragedy. So you can say I was a bit emotional over the move & other stuff, still sort of am. I had so much on my plate dealing with this move on my own that the night before, I asked a few friends what I should tip each of the movers, they gave an amount & that's what I tipped them. It was a lower percentage than what I'd tip at, say, a restaurant or something, but I'm usually a stupidly generous tipper so I hopped on the chance to have other people take one decision off my plate (note, I was moving from a 1 bedrm apt, I didn't have a house full of stuff, both buildings had elevators). Well, the guys were visibly disappointed. And even when they came back for something after that, I thought of giving more but my mind was in a zillion places (realizing I had just moved from my home of 8 yrs after a death in our family) that I didn't. It still bothers me to this day but at the same time, the guys could've been a little more gracious despite their disappointment. Sorry guys - I'll do better next time (which I hope is VERY far in the future) & I recommend you to everyone I know, raving about the bed bug prevention, professionalism etc & telling them to tip you well, ok?? Meanwhile, you could work a bit on being a little more thankful for the tips...I might not have given what you wanted but at least I wasn't one of those grumps that don't tip movers at all.So yes, overall a very good experience with I Move Green.

I had given them a good review in 2011 when we used them for a move so I used them again in 2016 from my apartment to house move.  I packed everything on my own except for the large items, big furniture, a TV and a very heavy and delicate computer tower that was there responsibility.A few days before the move I expected a call with a time window or just a confirmation that they were coming so on that Saturday before I was calling and texting the number with no answer until I finally found the girls cell phone number in an email and texted her. It's very strange to not have an off hours number for a moving company on the weekend when people are moving?They showed up on time and wrapped most of my items fine and transported everything to my new house. Once we got to the house the guys were not super careful. They almost busted an antique lighting fixture taking up my mattress, stuff was falling on the floor. I was very overwhelmed when I did the walk through downstairs that I didn't notice small things only if big things were broken which downstairs they weren't. Upon their departure, I noticed my dining room table was full of scratches as were my nightstand and the computer tower they packed up was completely broken and shattered (it seems like it "fell off" the truck). I told them about this the next day and after a week of calling different people they referred me to their insurance company who put in a claim. The claim came back and after busting my computer and messing up my other stuff they want to give me back $49.50 which is pretty unacceptable.  They said they pay out based on the pounds moved- apparently it doesn't have anything to do with the value of your things which makes no sense.Anyone who is moving - I advise you to find extra insurance because if this company or another company breaks your stuff, the movers are not responsible.

Recently made the move from NYC  to Greenpoint. And after my last move where I rented a u-haul and spent about 12 hours lugging my crap into it, then unloading it and dragging it up 3 floors at midnight (with my new neighbors yelling at me in the process), I figured I'd save myself the agony and do what any lazy new yorker with disposable income would do: pay someone else to do it. Called them up, haggled a little for the price and avoided the upsells as best as I could, and came out with a very reasonable price. They showed up bright and early (actually a little earlier than I had requested, so I had to wake up to let them in), and they got to work. I had pre-boxed my stuff, I think they had an option to box it up for you but I'm particular about my stuff so I did it myself. A couple hours later, I was surrounded by those same boxes in my new apartment - nothing broken (and believe me I checked quite thoroughly). The movers were nice enough, but then again I guess they're here to move your crap and not make small talk. Overall, it was a pain-free experience and pretty much what I expected and wanted for my first professional move. I've already recommended them to a couple of my friends who are moving from Long Island to the city, so let's hope they have a similar experience!

These guys are AMAZING! really great service, friendly and always honest and timely.i have used many companies before and decided to give them a try from a friends recommendation. they not only helepd me extensively with my move and gave me a referral discount but they earned my business for future moving needs. Very responsive, helpful and understanding towards my needs. more companies should be like them and i will definitely use them again.i recommend anyone not happy with prior providers please use them and see the amazing difference, not sure why so many negative review it must be from competitors!!

Was really amazing to have stumbled upon these guys. They were nice, hard working, quick, and extremely reliable. Nothing like a family owned business. They really know what they are doing these guys. I never actually go out of my way to recommend anyone but these guys were just phenomenal so i figured why not. I have moved quite a few times in my life and this was surely the best moving experience I have ever had! Thank you ImoveGREEN!
