I hired Hoboken movers to move one bedroom about 6 blocks. They showed up relatively on time however when my building asked them for proof of insurance they told me I would have to pay a 50 dollar premium. I am not even 100 percent sure that money went to anything as I never got a copy of the proof of insurance. They then told me that they needed to charge me for "special boxes" they needed to put my two TVs and mirror in to which I declined and elected to move myself. They packed and moved my stuff relatively quickly and came in at around their time estimate HOWEVER the thing that really pissed me off was that they ended up breaking two legs off of one of my dressers in the move. The driver ended up gerry-rigging it back together with some wood glue which worked and as the rest of the movers were leaving with their tip that I gave them, one of them decided that the tip was not enough and made a smart ass comment to me as he was leaving.  Overall it got the job done with minimal casualties however there were a lot of hidden fees, i ended up having to move two three large items myself, and the movers attitudes were a problem.

If I knew how to give zero stars I would. This is the worst moving experience I've ever had. I booked through Nadia at Hoboken Movers who are obviously a bullshit company who sent another company to do the job. I was quoted two hours to move one bedroom worth of furniture two blocks away to a storage unit. I was quoted $99 an hour. It ended up taking five hours and costing $650 with lots of hidden charges. The movers spent 40 minutes wrapping a single mattress in plastic and then tape over that but then didn't bother to even put a tarp over the second mattress. They look 40 minutes to drive the two blocks. For some inexplicable reason they took the plastic off of two white lampshades which are now stained are ruined. When I asked why they would remove the plastic covering, I was told it's a rule not to have plastic in the truck even though the truck was full of plastic bags and plastic wrapped furniture. WTH? They then insisted on being paid before the job was complete and once they were paid, they just left on the spot leaving 2/3 of the stuff in the storage facility's common area! We had to move the rest to the unit ourselves. The owner of the company is named Dmitry and the movers were Eastern European as well. Difficult and argumentative, these are the most dishonest people I've ever dealt with. Avoid Hoboken Movers and this company like the plague!!!

DON'T DO IT. They don't even merit one star.Was quoted 4-5 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment from Hoboken to Nutley, plus one hour of travel time --- this equated to $600 max. Fine.The Russian Mafia shows up, takes a look around at my stuff, says it'll take 9 HOURS, and that it'll be another $40 if I want them to move my television (who doesn't have a television?), and he was sure to remind me that all that didn't include their TIP.I told them to GTFO of my house and I called Chris at Jersey Movers to see if he could help me out (I'd also gotten a quote from him). He came RIGHT over, took a look at my stuff, and said he'd have a team over in the morning. And he did. And it took them 3 hours, not 9. I got a call later in the day from someone at Hoboken Movers who actually had the nerve to seem irritated that I sent his movers away, and was asking why I didn't give them a chance to match the other price. I told him they didn't deserve it and hung up the damned phone.

DO NOT use this company. They are a scam. They quoted us $400 for a move and then once they had our stuff in their van they doubled their quote. We refused to pay them the second quote and they dumped our stuff on the sidewalk and left. We are filing a complaint with the BBB and the state of NJ about this company. Look elsewhere for movers. This company is a complete scam.

I would rather give negative points to these movers for making me go through a nighmarish experience. I found these guys through Hoboken movers. While signing the contract, i was told that usulally my apt can be moved in 3 hours as I was moving just a block away. i had packed everything in boxes so the only work involved was to pack the furniture which was mostly one piece. First of all they arrived 2 hours late without informing me. 3 skinny school students arrived finally out of which one 1 or 2 would be working at a time. they would vanish for 20-30 mins and I had to go check on them constantly. It too them 5 hours to just pack and load the truck. when I went close to the trck, I saw a pile of beer cans which explains why it took them so long everytime to come back.Once they drove down the block to my new place, they told me that I neded to pay them $400 more in order to unload the truck, else they would drive away with my furniture. I had to pay them what they asked for as they were charging for the negotiating time as well. at the end of the day, they aske dme to pay another $200 at 10 PM in order to put the second bed together. I aske dthem to leave as I had enough of their blackmailing and lame work ethics. I would highly recommend to stay away from these movers as they will make sure that you pay way more than you signed up for.
