History

Established in 2004. Dr. Sofa ® comes from three generations of furniture specialists. Even at a young age, he was drawing sketches and carrying out small repairs for the family's furniture business, pretty soon it became apparent that the Doctor was meant to work with furniture.As he grew older, he apprenticed in the business beginning with basic carpentry, and quickly expanding into upholstery, refinishing, design and antique furniture repair.

If I could give more stars I would! These guys came with in an hour, took the sofa to their storage, and delivered it back to my place, they we're so carful putting it back together not a scratch or damage! It was a white couch so the fact that it stayed white after they took it apart is a miracle. And the price was great! I can't say enough good things. So please.

Thank you Dr. Sofa! I recently bought an amazing sectional for our new apartment in the city. I went to a liquidator and picked a $10k brand name sofa for less than $3k! So excited I completely forgot It needs to fit in the door! Our first time moving into a city apartment...When it was dropped off and the delivery guys told me they can't get it into my new home, I was devastated! What was I thinking?!? I did not know what to do...I guess it wasn't the first time those delivery guys saw a grown woman cry, they just said "call Dr. Sofa!" And I did...the experience was smooth from start to finish. Bottom line - the sectional is proudly set up in our new apartment! Dr Sofa"s team took it apart and put it back perfectly, you would never know!

Full disclosure, I did not use their service. My review is based on my experience dealing with them to determine if I wanted to use them. Save yourself time and money and contact NYC Couch Surgeon instead. Dr Sofa's quote was ridiculously high. They couldn't provide a good explanation for the estimate when asked, and I had to email several times before I could get a response.

I purchased a custom sectional sofa from them. It's lovely, and it arrived when they said it would. They disassembled it to fit in the elevator and were professional and courteous.

I can't believe that I posted this review and then had the business comment that they are blaming competitors for using their name and to book jobs and they claim to have no record of it. 1. It is completely false it was a "competitor" unless the Detectives from the NYPD were lying to me. The courts who arrested and charged the man who stole from me were lying. I called Dr. Sofa, I spoke to numerous people there from the girl who booked my appointment to the manager I reported the theft to and the POLICE also called them, worked with them to find out which employee it was that stole from my  home. 2. When I called to have my locksmith fees reimbursed, they were able to look me up really quickly and tell me "We didn't charge you for the service. Why should we pay your locksmith fees?" Well because I had to get my locks changed after you had unauthorized employees come into my home and steal from me. Once again, this company is LYING and trying to place blame on someone else when it was their fault! I WILL NOT TAKE DOWN MY REVIEW DR. SOFA! I SPENT OVER $200 GETTING MY LOCKS CHANGED AND GETTING NEW KEYS MADE AND YOU DID NOTHING TO HELP ME. I called there and gave you a chance to reimburse me and you did NOTHING.
