Just moved today with Anthony & Khalif, the nicest smoothest move EVER!!!Super fast and efficient, couldn't ask for more. Even my Mom said the same.Look no further book with Stacy she is the best too!!

I used Dorothy + Martha for my move from Astoria to White Plains back in May. Our appointment was for three guys to show up at 10AM (after a morning move they described as 'quick and easy') and they would disassemble AND assemble all furnitures as well as wrapping of the mattress. After many phone calls, two guys finally showed up around 1:30PM. They came without tools and seemed very tired from their first move of the day. Since we did not have much time to spare, I unassembled all my bedroom furnitures myself while my boyfriend moved all small boxes down stairs. By the time we got to the new apartment it was 5:30 and was told we were too late to move our stuff in. So again, after many phone calls, we got the OK to move but was told to be quick. So the four of us brought everything upstairs within an hour (one large mirror was broken by them) and finally finished getting everything inside. They said they had another move scheduled that night so they have to go. Although in the agreement, they were supposed to assemble everything and put all furnitures where they belonged. The office offered us a discount and I did not want to prolong this process any more so i settled. This made my moving day more stressful than it already was. Maybe we just had bad luck on that day with the scheduling, because the office kept insisting that we didn't tell them in advance about the cut off time. But we thought 10am to 5pm was plenty time. I just don't wish my moving day experience upon anyone else so here is my review.

Don't hire Dorothy & Martha. They recently completed a move for me and managed to damage nearly all of my valuable furniture. I asked the movers to wrap everything in blankets, and they assured they would but it's clear they neglected to do so after seeing the damages. Justin Stein, their owner, was dismissive after seeing the photos of the damages that I sent along and laughed at me when I tried to file a claim to be fairly compensated for the repairs. They offered me a mere $30 for thousands of dollars of damages that they caused which is completely insulting. Justin even said himself that the amount they were willing to pay "pales in comparison to how much I paid for the items." It's an admittance of guilt and gross negligence. Their staff is poorly trained and completely unprofessional. You will dodge a bullet if you find other movers.

If you're thinking of hiring this company, run away as fast as you can. I booked this company through a site called Unpakt and was originally very excited.My new landlord requested a certificate of insurance, which Dorothy and Martha sent over. However, upon further inspection, it was decided that the certificate had CLEARLY been altered. Dates had been whited out and typed in. Values had been changed. Plain and simple, the document was FORGED and FAKE. The certificate of liability was a sham. When they couldn't produce one that the management company would accept, certified by the actual insurance company Dorothy and Martha offered to reschedule the move on me. I only had one day of notice. Thankfully, I was able to rebook on Unpakt and find a legitimate moving company on short notice.THIS COMPANY WILL LIE TO YOU. THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION AND THEY'LL LIE TO YOU ABOUT IT BEING STANDARD PRACTICE. What they're doing clearly isn't legal. Playing games and forging a signed document from an insurance company is how you wind up in JAIL. If you ever think about doing business with these crooks, RUN AWAY!!!I'm so passionate about this that if you're thinking about working with them, message me and I'll be happy to send you a copy of the FORGED document.

I booked this company through a site called Unpakt for my move from Brooklyn to Manhattan. I lived in a 3rd floor walk up and moved to a 4th floor walk up so the two guys did a pretty good job carrying all my stuff down and up all those flights of stairs. The job took approximately 2 hours which was fast (although they did arrive an hour later than I expected to my apartment).I just had a few minor problems. While the movers were bringing my vanity I have up the stairs one of the legs broke off. They said I could try adding wood glue to it but I've tried and there no way to repair it. The movers also forgot my mirror in the truck went they left so I called and he told me that they found it in the back of the truck and it was broken. They wrapped a blanket around it but I guess it wasn't properly placed where it couldn't break. They came back to the apartment and gave me back the tip I gave them and money to cover the mirror. I wasn't very upset since my new apartment already has a full-length mirror in the closet, I was just disappointed that these two things didn't make the trip. I contacted the company for a refund and they said they would mail me a check for it. Overall, it was an ok experience. Definitely had its ups and downs. For the future, I might consider a different moving company. If you're looking for the cheapest moving company with fast service, this may be the company for you.
