Established in 1991. Ben Hur started with a desire to help our own community. Our goal was simple--to provide New Yorkers with safe, reliable, affordable relocation services. With that goal accomplished, we expanded our operations to include interstate and long-distance moves, as well as full-service and store-it-yourself storage. To serve a growing West Coast clientele, we opened our Los Angeles office in 1999.Today, with offices on the East and the West Coasts, as well as agents throughout the country, Ben Hur provides complete relocation and related services. We perform professionally any local or long-distance relocation, including en-route pick-ups. We operate our own warehouse-storage and self-storage facilities and can satisfy any household and commercial storage needs.

Awesome moving company. We moved long distance from New York to California. The movers were helpful with wrapping, securing items in blankets with extra tape, etc.The mover paid great attention to minor details making sure all items, boxes are accounted numbered and tallied.They arrived a month later to the final destination with good shape, nothing breaks! wow.The movers are super friendly and professional.Ben Hur, is the company to hire when moving your house hold items.

I cant believe this company is still in business. A few years ago we used them to move from NYC to CT. They recommended we buy their assurance which as a scam as the insisted we use our own insurance first for all the breakages they caused. When they loaded the truck the foreman hit me up for tips... the guys were not in the room. At first i insisted that in only pay on completion... the following week when the the stuff arrived safe. But he demanded tips then and there for that days work. I offered to to down and tip the guys personally but he wouldnt allow that. He wanted me to give it all to him. The worst part is that he suggested my stuff was at his mercy while in storage.I couldnt believe me ears. I found some, just to get him out of my site and off he went. A week later a different set of guys delivered the stuff. A hand painted Italian bowl was shattered and an antique desk was irreparable.

I used them several years ago. Everything went OK. Nothing broken, no lateness. I tipped them fairly yet they had the nerve to ask me for more money. Wouldn't use them again.

Worst movers ever, move don Friday but they were late I moved all of my stuff from the 44th floor to the street, these guys, show up one hour and a half late. Had I not moved my stuff I would've lost the freight elevator. Worst damn mover ever, DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE

Based on previous reviews, it seems this company has some good and some very bad employees... I got one of the bad sets.Movers showed up 1hr late, were rude throughout the move, SLOW, didn't have their own blankets to wrap the furniture and had to use mine, and completely ignored my instructions about wrapping certain pieces.At the end the foreman, Angel, tried to charge more than quoted. Also, I wanted to make a note in the paperwork that I signed at the end that one of the movers had dropped a beige couch cushion in the dirt (it hadn't been wrapped) and it may require cleaning. Angel denied it ever happening (I saw it myself!).. Once i finished filling out the paperwork and walked away, Angel scratched out what I had written about the cushion, wrote "NO DAMAGE" and signed my initials. Really not okay.I'm sure this company offers better service than I received, but at the risk of having Angel as a foreman, I would not chance it.
