old bait and switch. called these guys because there name says it all ASTORIA MOVERS. asked if they were located in astoria and the guy said of course. said 3 hour minimum never mentioned anything about an extra hour for travel. When the truck got to the house and we signed the paper work, they added on an extra hour for travel. I was really angry about this, at lease be up front about it in your initial estimate. I spoke to the truck driver who proceeded to tell me that their trucks are located in park slope, not astoria. So of course they are going to charge for travel time. I called the 'main office' and was told i would receive a call back from the boss.....still waiting for that call back

I wish there was no star option The worst experience I ever had movingI once moved without help and it was even more pleasant than this experience Talking to the guy on the phone was very nice and easy. $110 per hour includes everything . They will come at X time and that's itThe truth : they decided to come 3 hours early otherwise they cancel the job 3 guys came in asking to start charging an hour earlier because they couldn't find the addressThey asked if I want stuff wrapped because this will cost more They took the longest time . One of them just couldn't get off the phone unless I rush him and point to watch After taking 4 hours to load 2 bedrooms and kitchen to truck , they asked to get paid first on assumption it will take them another 3 hours . Take in mind the distance from old location to new location is a 5 minute drive Talked to Daniel from the company who doesn't understand English and at the end he just decided to hang up ****BOTTOM LINEDONT EVER HIRE THOSE GUYS. Hire Men on the move if you want . Same price and more decent and fast.

Big scam! They take advantage especially when you don't fix the price. This company is affiliated to Admiral Movers.. They don't deserve to be in YELP even. They sent a truck all the way from NJ but the very reason why I hired them is the fact that they were coming from Astoria. Hired them at least two weeks before my move.. talked to a guy named SERGEI.

Avoid these people, they're dishonest con artists not professional movers. I could go on but I won't - the lack of reviews on here makes me think hey probably threaten those that leave an opinion. They don't understand the relationship between customer and service provider, somehow seem to think they are above all that and can still do an awful job. I'm sure they operate under several different names. Just avoid them.

If there was a 0 star option, that is what this place's true rating is. STAY AWAY from this place! The price they quoted on the phone when I scheduled the move was reasonable. However they failed to save my reservation and instead of telling me, they called another company to move me (without me knowing). The other company showed up 5 hrs late, with no regard to anything I had discussed with this company (Astoria Movers). No certificate of insurance, plenty of hidden fees, Cash only and not nearly the same quote. Because they came so late, we then hit rush hour traffic and fees by hour kept piling on. In the end, i ended up paying more than double of the original quoted price. THEY ARE SHADY and will screw you over just so they can make money. NEVER USE THEM!
