History

Established in 2004. Above Movers was started in 2004 by an experienced mover name Terrence V who got a couple of vans and started helping people with small deliveries from craigslist and local postings throughout the city. The company has transported bands and their equipment to gigs, independent film directors and their props to various locations for shoots, painters along with their paintings, even flea marketeers to the market with their goods, but most of all Above Movers have helped roommates get to their new destinations safely and with as little stress as possible. Terrence and his partner just completed moving a very heavy and challenging piece of furniture up three, steep flights to my apartment. He came highly recommended by the antique store on Court Street & 2nd Place in Carroll Gardens. Terrence was quick to return my phone calls, give me a fair quote, and confirm and reconfirm the appointment by phone and text. Today, he was early and communicative throughout the appointment. He and his partner maneuvered the difficult stairwell without a scratch on anything. He was a true professional and very kind as well.

Terrence and his guys were great, they really took care of me! I had a two part move: out of a third floor walkup and into storage for a few weeks, then out of storage and into my new home (elevator building). Above Movers took care of both moves.The guys were very careful with all of my glass furniture, carefully wrapping and moving each piece. Terrence was also kind enough to leave his protective padding on the furniture while it was in storage. The guys packed the storage unit efficiently and in such a way that I could have access to certain items if necessary.Part two of the move: out of storage and into my new building was quick and smooth. Getting the copy of their certificate of insurance, which was required for the move into my new building, was also simple.Moving is traumatic, and having a good services and support help ease the trauma! I'm a firm believer in customer reviews; that's how I found Above Movers in the first place. My experience was great service at a fair cost. I would use them again, and I recommend them to anyone needing moving services to/ from or around NYC!

They were great. The movers did a fantastic job and they really stayed in touch with us every step of the way. Wonderful service. There was a slight issue with the payment because the owner didn't have a working app for credit cards and we had to scramble to find our checks. That could have been problematic if we were depending on paying by credit but other than that - completely satisfied. I would highly recommend them.

Terrence and his crew recently help me and my boyfriend with a move that would have been a complete nightmare without his crew. When we arrived at the new place with all our stuff, we found out that the management company didn't finish the renovations and even though they told us to move in on that day, the space wasn't habitable. Terrence and crew gave us great advice on how to handle the situation and helped us get our stuff into a storage facility. They basically kept us from completely panicking, and stayed with us until the job was finished. They then came back several days later to help me finish off the move. I appreciated their positivity and professionalism. They also work very fast, they have a very competitive price for the area, and they had care with our belongings. I'm hoping to not move again soon, but if I do I'm definitely getting the guys back again.
