5 Star movers helped me out last minute, without trying to charge me extra which it seems many other companies were trying to do. I understand a same day move is "last minute" but there is no reason to charge more or extra because I am calling you with no notice, if anything I should get a discount as you probably already have trucks out on the road. When I called and spoke to Mike he said told me the rates are the same any day or time of the week. I paid my deposit and the crew arrived about 2 hours later which worked perfect for me. I was buying a couch and bedroom set off somebody in the Bronx from craigslist and I need some reliable affordable Bronx movers to pick it up for me. 5 star took care of everything for me and wrapped all the furniture beautifully.

Strongly suggest avoiding this company all together! They showed up for a 2pm move at 10pm to start off with. You would think during this time frame that the company would contact you via the email and phone number you provided to let you know things were running late, but this is not the case. I called them at 2:30 and they said that it was a 4pm move. Called them around 4 asking the ETA since I had to be in my building by 5pm (which was thoroughly outlined twice leading up to the move), and without asking my name or which reservation I was referring to said that the movers will call you in 10 minutes letting us know. 10 minutes passed, 30 minutes passed and we tried calling the management office.The line had suddenly gone dead. With roughly 20 calls to Justine ringing twice and hanging up (no voicemail set up) we started considering alternative plans. Around 5:30, we assumed that they would not be coming any more and made a uhaul reservation and took 2 Uber SUV trips ($80) full of stuff. Finally around 7:30 Justine magically appears again by email claiming to of called (No missed calls or Voicemails) and that the movers would be there at 8:30.Get there at 8:30 and buy waters for the 5 movers we were promised. Only 3 movers showed up after 10pm. The movers had no idea about this job and had been working since 9am. Everything was all settled around 11:30 that night thanks to a great moving staff and no thanks to management.Would love to see the owner respond about the "discount" he gave us. He did discount the amount we paid for Ubers, but it was hard enough to get that concession. All the while holding our stuff hostage unless we agreed to pay full price. 5 stars for 5 stars moving services. I cannot say thank you enough to Robert and William for making my moving day as cool and fun as It was. Moved from a one bedroom into another one bedroom and they were able to move everything within 2 hours and set my furniture where I desired and even let me change my mind a few times. I would absolutely recommended them! Down to earth, hard working professional movers at an affordable price in not an easy thing to find when looking for movers in NYC.

It's not often that one's expectations are exceeded or even met when randomly choosing a NYC moving service from Craigslist, but that's what happened.  I thought 5 Star were great and the whole thing from booking to their departure was an extremely smooth process.  In my 14 years living in NYC, I've moved house 8 times, soooo....The best part about 5 Star was they REMOVED some big bulky JUNK furniture and took it to the DUMP for an unbelievable low price.  Lower than any of the charity shop pick-ups (and I did a ton of furniture removal research).  "They probably kept it or sold it," you say?  Great - they can have it!   All that mattered was that it was out of the house and not our problem anymore.  I actually don't think they did keep it because it was all broken and total crap.  Another aspect I liked about 5 Star was their ONLINE BOOKING platform.  You list what you have to be moved, both addresses, stairs vs elevator, etc, and they send you back the quote.  Once you've approved the quote, you e-sign the order and you're all booked.  After that, if you need to communicate w/ them, Mike is great on email and the phone.  The movers did come a few hours later than originally scheduled, but the communication was good.  Be aware:  if they can't reach you by phone on the morning of your move, they might think you're not home and put in another move before yours.  I didn't mind though because I needed the extra prep time and wasn't under any time pressure.  When they did show, the guys all spoke English, were friendly and energetic, and moved quickly.  Only one minor casualty - they broke the drainage plate of a very large terracotta plant pot.  Again, nbd.All in all, probably the easiest move I've had in NYC and a good service provided by 5 Star Movers.  #CoSign

They are the best moving company , I ever Dealt with , they are 5 star , they made it easy for me to move , and help me get a storage place !! The workers are Respectable , and caring of your Merchandise.  I would Recommend them to anyone if n when they move , this is the company to use , thank you 5 star for making my move easy and less stressful  ;-)
