Stevenson Transfer

I selected Stevenson based on the great reviews I saw on Yelp. The reviews were spot on, Stevenson was awesome from beginning of process to end for our move from Chicago to Atlanta. Bill Stevenson came out to do a personal assessment and provided a 'not to exceed number' with promise that if weight came under what he estimated, we would get a refund. After his estimate, I worked with his staff on scheduling, Lorna and Angie were so friendly and helpful each time I spoke with them.  Moving day, 4 Stevenson guys showed up (Kevin, Louie, Mike and Caleb) who were all the nicest guys! So pleasant, hard-working, energetic and eager to do whatever was needed to meet my needs. Mike Anderson drove the truck to Atlanta and showed up even earlier than promised the day due. He also went over and above what I expected in delivering all our belongings safely, he even refused the tip I offered him for his exemplary service!So, after this move which far exceeded my expectations, guess what?  They called and told me they were refunding my credit card $250 because it was under the weight they estimated. Unbelievable.Thank you to everyone at Stevenson, you made this difficult move so much easier than we expected!!

After receiving a quote from Stevenson for a move out of Chicago and not selecting them a week later I knew I had made a mistake.  So when it was time to escape from NYC I called Stevenson immediately and didn't bother with anyone else!Everyone at this company is dedicated and professional plus it is always nice dealing with Midwestern people no matter where you are located.  Amazingly Stephenson was able to work with my schedule, navigate the streets/traffic of Midtown Manhttn, find parking, and pack/load us all within schedule.  I also took advantage of their crating service which I found to be very well done and reasonably priced.  As well, IMO their storage rates are good and you know your stuff will be safe in their privately owned Ottawa, IL warehouse.There is no doubt I will use Stephenson again and if they only did local moves as well the world would be a better place!

If you are moving and want your belongings treated with care, this has to be your top choice. Recently moved cross country and Stevenson handled everything as promised. Packed us, moved and arrived with a minimum of hassles. Highly recommended.

First class outfit. My brother, sister and I coordinated a move for our parents from Chicago to Naples, and the whole process was professional, friendly, and absolutely dependable. Typically, having several point people (my siblings and I) to deal with is a bit much for most companies, but it never became an issue with Stevenson. Their coordinators (usually Lorna) took it all in stride and kept us all in the loop as needed. High points:o The crew chief - Joe Rychtarik was the driver and in charge of the move. He was excellent - very clear communication, attention to detail, and went with the shipment to supervise the move-in. o The owner - Bill Stevenson Jr. - did the estimate and was also very professional. o The crew - Justin, Louie, Kevin, and others - were neat, clean, hardworking, friendly, etc. One of them (to remain unnamed!) has been with Stevenson Transfer for 50 years, believe it or not.o Reliability - They showed up when promised 100% of the time, whether it was for the estimate, the packing, the move-out, or even the move in.o Flexibility - They let us pick the move-in dates, while other companies would not (it gets moved in when it arrives). Stevenson simply parked the truck for a week, then headed for Florida 2 or 3 days in advance to make sure they started the move-in on the date we requested (which was critical since my brother flew in to supervise the move). They also dropped part of the shipment off in a storage facility nearby as we requested.o No handoffs to other companies - although another Mayflower crew did the unloading in Florida, Joe (the driver) was there for the entire move and we had no damage (except one vase), despite numerous delicate antiques.Pricing was virtually spot-on with a United Van Lines quote, and we are very happy we chose Stevenson. In fact, my brother plans to use them when he moves out of state next year.Highly recommended. Ask for Joe!

Stevenson was great for my move from Chicago to Philadelphia. They came to do an in-home assessment and gave me a ceiling quote that ended up being $350 too high so I got a refund. On the morning of my move they arrived right on time and were very polite and professional. One piece of furniture did get broken, but it was still useable (a desk top that had been connected to its drawers got separated, but they put it back together on my delivery day and it works fine). The driver who picked up my stuff was the same driver who delivered it which was very nice continuity. There was an 8 day period between the pick up and the drop off and they dropped off on my preferred delivery date. Nothing got lost and with the exception of the desk, which still works, and nothing was damaged. This was as little hassle as I could hope for in a cross country move.
