They moved my husband and I quickly and efficiently! Very kind and personable, if they had to take something apart they were sure to put it back together! Well done and good price to move!

I never feel compelled to write reviews for restaurants or services, but my absolutely HORRIFIC experience with Alex made me feel obligated to warn everyone out there.  While his prices may be competitive, don't buy into the scam.   I set up my move with Alex directly almost a month in advance and even confirmed my appointment two more times (1 week and day before the move) before as there was no formal confirmation you would typically receive from a reputable moving service.   Alex called me the morning of to confirm we are all set and then called me back shortly after to let me know he was having issues starting his truck.   Given there was still two hours before my scheduled move and reserved freight elevator time, I had hoped he provide solutions given I had strict elevator times at both of my buildings.  Instead, he had the audacity to ask me to rent a truck on his behalf and bring it back to my apartment because he did not have a commercial license due to the several tickets he had.  Given my urgent situation, I began calling around several different local Penske's but there were few options available as it was close to end of month.   As I began striking out on options, I called him back and asked him if he could have one of his fellow workers put the rental on their name and provide a license.   For the next three hours, he proceeded to call me back several times saying he had found a truck and that he would arrive in 30 minutes.   Every time I called back, he would lie about the ETA and make up a new excuse (no valid credit card to reserve truck, friend ditched on him, heavy traffic) as to why he did not have a truck yet.  Finally after a few hours, he called and gave me his word that he was in the truck and on his way.  I was lucky enough to find a time slot to use the freight elevator and started moving all my boxes and smaller items on my own to the load dock area.  He eventually showed up with two other guys in a beat down jee.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing and he tried to convince me we would be able to move several dressers, bed frames and a 1 bedroom worth of boxes/luggage in the jeep.   I spent the most stressful 36 hours on my own doing shuttle runs between the two apartments to move all my smaller items in my own car.  I eventually had to borrow a truck from a friend and ask for help to move my larger items the following day.    DO NOT USE ALEX for your moves as he will let you down and make excuses.  If he does show up, he will almost certainly scuff up all your things.  Pay a little bit extra and find a more reliable service as the unreliability and stress of booking Starmasters is not worth it.

I have never written a bad review or reported anyone to the Better Business Bureau, but Alex and his son were so terrible I feel it's worth the trouble.Alex quoted me at 2 hours or $250 to move me from my 1 bedroom apartment with an elevator to a 3rd floor apartment with 2 men.  I added a stop 4 blocks from my destination to just drop off a dresser (should only have added 20minutes at most).  They ended up charging me $545 total as they took twice as long as the original estimate. The added time was because his 2 men were his young son and cousin who Alex spent a lot of the time I was paying for arguing with.  At one point I could hear them swearing at each other in the alley for 10min without moving anything.  I also bought them breakfast and tipped them well despite all of this.  After they left, my handyman told me he heard them outside arguing and not doing anything for much longer AND I found they had broken my daybed.We called Alex several times over 3 weeks to resolve this. He kept making fake promises such as he would give some of our money back and get the day bed fixed for us at first.  But he kept making excuses and delaying until he stopped answering our calls all together.  I asked for his manager's phone number but he ignored me.  He admitted that his son was a bad worker and would never use him again, but did nothing to make up for the extra $300 I paid (not to mention the $60 I tipped them not realizing they had broken my daybed and tried to hide it).  I gave him every chance to resolve the issue as my friends recommended him so I wanted to give him a second chance. But the fact that he was dishonest and tried to hide the broken day bed backboard from me is unforgivable.  I highly recommend NOT using them.  I have also reported them to the Better Business Bureau as I feel I was seriously taken advantage of.

The moving company I hired was 6 hours late and I needed to move out that day. I called Star Master Movers at the last minute and they came within the hour (7:00pm). They were quick. They were respectful. They moved my stuff and nothing was damaged. If you find yourself in a similar situation, call 'em. They'll get it done.

Alex and his movers were able to assist me when my other movers cancelled on me the night before my move. Alex was extremely attentive, was able to show up earlier than planned, and helped make the move go smoothly. His movers were friendly and helpful as well.If you're in a pinch and need help with your move, definitely call Star Master Movers! I will definitely use them again if I move.
