They are absolutely rude when they are in someone apartment by going to the bathroom , putting the lid down and not flashing it !! Plus they are also a bunch of fucking thrives too ! Because I wanted to save my beloved Mommy Cats dish and her empty litter box and they stole them ! I do hope and pray that some bed bugs did jump off on them and they took them home with them and gave them bed bugs !

I went with Smith Movers when I was moving to my new apartment in the summer because they gave a good price and were available. I had to change the date and time of my moving date last minute, and they were still able to do it. I had to move late at night, and I asked if they are still going to be open then. The man on the phone said something like "we don't close until we finish the job." I was very grateful, because they were probably the only moving company at that point who can help me move in such short notice at 8pm (something like that) with a good price. My experience with Smith Movers was a rollercoaster of good and bad: They were almost an hour late, and I was growing impatient and felt like this moving experience was going to suck. When they finally came though, they were FAST. It was really like BOOM BOOM BOOM, done, we were in the truck ready to go to the new apartment. Oh yea, one of the movers broke the leg of one of my furniture, but it was a mirror that could still look good without legs so I told him to just take out the other leg. There were 2 movers and 1 driver who also helped out. The guys were really friendly and funny and I didn't care that they were late anymore. When we got to the new place the guy reassembled my bed as quickly as he disassembled it. I moved from a studio to a 2 bedroom and the whole process took less than 2 hours. I thought it was great and I was feeling happy, and then I realized they have left one thing in their truck. It was a floor cleaner-mop thing that was more than $50 so I wanted it back. I called them up and told them that something was left in the truck, and the person told me that he will contact me later. Multiple phone calls happened after that where the guy said someone will come drop it off tomorrow, but that never happened until around 2 weeks later. I understand that they are busy and that they might not have the time to drop it off. But it was kind of annoying having to deal with it and having to call them back again and again to follow up on when I can have my mop back. When I first move into a new apt, I want to clean the floors -- it was dusty and I needed the mop! I feel like the movers should have double checked the truck to be sure that nothing was left in there. But anyways, they did return it so I guess that's what counts. I rated them 4 stars because they weren't perfect, but if it weren't for them, I would have been much more stressed about my moving situation during that night. I would move with them again if I'm on a tight budget or if I have to move at a weird time when no other moving companies are available.

I wish I was able to give 0 stars for this company.If you value your personal belongings, I would suggest either moving your items yourself or finding a different moving company. I hired Smith Movers for a move date of May 27 to move a 3 bedroom condo literally 3 blocks away. I will give them good marks for being punctual, but that's about it.There were 3 gentlemen that showed up, one of which I soon found out was diabetic, because he was in need of sugar shortly after their arrival. The other gentleman was easily about 95lbs, so this immediately made me wonder how effective he would be at moving larger items - since one of the three men was the driver and his primary role was to watch the truck.Needless to say this move took all day long, started at 9am and ended at 5pm - which I felt was way too long for a 3 bedroom condo that only had one bedroom set, living and dining room furniture and the rest were boxes. Since my move took place over a Holiday weekend, I wasn't able to really unpack until after Memorial Day. This is when I found out that I had serious damage to multiple furniture pieces. I then contacted Tremaine (the manager) at Smith Movers, who informed me to send pictures via text and he would contact me upon review. Well a week went by and I hadn't heard anything, so I called him a couple times in which I was unsuccessful in reaching him. After those failed attempts, I tried again and reached him, in which he told me he was in receipt of the pictures, but I hadn't heard back from him stating this. I was instructed that someone would contact me in regards to coming out and accessing the damage.... still waiting.I also discovered that we have a box missing, the contents in the box were mostly jewelry items. Now, I can't confirm with 100% certainty that the employees are responsible for this "missing box", but I can say that a lunch break was taken - that we were not aware of, until I showed up at my new address expecting the truck to be there waiting for me; instead I received a phone call 15 minutes later stating they stopped for lunch. I don't know if this is a common practice with moving companies, but I have a HUGE problem with ALL of my personal belongings being out of my site for at least 45-minutes. This was also not a lunch break that I was aware of in advance, had that been the case I would have suggested other options.

I wish i could give them 0 stars the worst moving experience ever.  I hired them for a two hour move from the city to western suburbs. I had two friends at the house ready to help with the move.   The movers showed up with a 3 man team at 12 noon they  looked over my stuff which was packed and ready to go and said NO we can't do this move.  Their excuse was i should have called them early in the morning cause its gonna be a all day move.  And they left.  Crazy, stupid, i called customer svc which did nothing.  DO NOT USE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL GHETTO HOOD SERVICE.
