Old Dominion Freight Line

I had a great experience with old dominion.  Their website provided a lot of tracking info and accurate time estimate. The customer service rep that called me to schedule a delivery was friendly and helpful. The driver delivered my item in the scheduled time frame  and helped me load it onto a trailer as there was no way he could get down my driveway with a full semi truck. There was absolutely no dings on the cardboard overwrap and the item showed no evidence of damage. I'm quite pleased and would use them again. It was a stark contrast to another experience I had with a different shipping line (i reviewed them as well if you care to find out how that went). When I ordered my item I specifically asked the seller to not to use this other shipping company.

Too bad there isn't an option for zero stars. Terrible. Poor communication,  even poorer customer service. Doesn't honor commitments then puts the ownership back on the customer.  Any company that hires them for freight delivery is just asking for disgruntled customers.

I was expecting a delivery from Costco through them for several days. The delivery was brought to me a full day after the time set up by phone, and the driver refused to bring the delivery inside, though it was quite large and required a pallet jack to move around. He would happily have left it on the sidewalk for anyone to steal. On calling their customer service, I was informed that this is their standard practice - they don't bring anything inside. The delivery was to a building without steps, with wide double doors to the entryway, and I was right there to receive the items. So really, we're talking about 2 feet of moving across a level area. But they refused and it was left outside. Don't ship through them and don't receive shipments made through them.

consistently disappointing - as all freight companies are it seems. they either do not have good information to give, or they just lie - not sure which.paying for lift gate doesn't guarantee lift gate service.promised delivery dates/times nearly never honoredout for delivery doesn't mean it will actually get delivered that day, or even the next.

This company is really bad, have a scheduled pick up but they didn't show up, and what is even worse was they didn't call to let us know they couldn't come. Happened more than 3 times. Called the representative and they just told me they will call next time when they can't come, which is they told me the same things over and over again when they couldn't come and they gave me too many excuses too. what a great company. Make sure you think twice, thrice if you want to deal with them.
