Moved with Midwest, we requested a quote for a move to start at 11am. Day of the move there is no word from the company. Multiple calls to the company go unanswered and we started calling Uhaul to see if they had a truck available. The movers call about 2 hours after they were scheduled to begin the move, and still didn't show up for nearly 30 more minutes. We had everything boxed, all furniture broken down, and a parking spot for the movers right by the building. The move commences and they took an additional 2 hours beyond what they quoted us. There were 2 movers actively working while the 3rd mover was moving and taking personal phone calls the entire time. For the unpacking we helped the movers by having them place boxes in the main room and moving them ourselves within the apartment. At the end of the day they say they need to charge us for the two additional hours it took them. When we spoke to the accounts payable group they offered to take half an hour off.  Before they left the man in charge hands us a "rate our work" sheet with the movers standing right there, which I don't think is an accurate measure of their services, it's more of a shakedown for a good review.

Do not use this company. You will never see your belongings and you will pay to lose everything. Please save yourself the pain and suffering.

If I could give them no stars I would. Everything was fine when they came to get my things, nice guys and they packed the truck very quickly. I had to have my things stored in their warehouse in Las Vegas until I was ready to move and was assured that everything would be gated off and untouched until I called them with my new address and my things were packed again. Unfortunately when my things arrived in Miami I found my scuba gear ($3k worth) were missing. Apparently they have thieves at their facility in Las Vegas that like high end things to take. Maybe it was my fault because I didn't pack it all in a box which would make it impossible to know what was inside... no, it isn't my fault at all, it's theirs for not taking the appropriate care with my things to prevent this from happening. I wouldn't use these guys again no matter how cheap it is. My suggestion would be to get insurance for your things, the insurance they provide is a "by the pound" insurance and you only get around 80 cents per pound for anything missing or damaged. Be warned.

I called around for quotes, although Midwest Movers were not the cheapest, they guaranteed the quickest drop off and had more decent reviews than most companies and they are based out of my hometown so we decided to go with them. They came on moving day within the time specified. We had packed and taped all of our own boxes and placed them neatly in the garage. We only brought three pieces of furniture and they wrapped everything nicely for us. Three men quickly packed the truck up and they labeled everything with a colored sticker with a lot number and piece number. We were told delivery would take place within 3-5 days. Delivery actually took 14 days. The truck came at night, while it was pitch black and snowing. The three three men that delivered were friendly. They don't actually work for Midwest Movers, they are contracted. The men loaded our boxes into the garage and my husband helped. They men brought the furniture in our home. The truck driver assured me all of the boxes and items had been counted and matched the number on the paperwork. After we began to unpack the next day, we realized that we realized had had two matching plastic storage containers and only one was delivered. We immediately contacted the tuck driver and sent him a photo of the matching storage container. He said he would take a look in his truck and get back to us. We contacted him again and he said he was not able to locate it. We then contacted Midwest Movers to let them know what was going on. As we finished unpacking, we realized more belongings missing. We contacted Midwest Movers again and were told to email their lost claims department, so we did. It took two emails from myself to receive a response. I was told that my items were picked up from my home, stored in a warehouse, picked up again and loaded with other people's belongings with drop offs on the way and then delivered. I honestly do not have have an issue with this process, however, I have items missing and have no answers. I was told when my belongings were removed from from the warehouse they were replaced with someone else's belongings and until then other people's belongings are picked up, then won't be able to look for mine. They also said they contacted the people whose belongings were delivered before and after me and nobody accidentally received my belongings. It has been 57 days since my belongings were delivered and I still have no answers and nobody really seems to care. Things do not disappear. They are either still in the warehouse, delivered to the wrong home or stolen. I did not pay my hard earned money for my belongings to get "lost." I watched those men put a sticker on every single item they loaded into that truck. Are there not documents from when they were loaded onto another truck from the warehouse confirming every single piece was accounted for? I understand mistakes can happen, but rectify it. $0.60 per pound of items missing, will not please me. I want MY BELONGINGS returned to me. I will involve the Better Business Bureau, the news, a lawyer, anybody I have to so that I can be heard and others can be warned and I can get my belongings back. I really wanted to give this company a good rating and use them again in the future and give them referrals, but until this situation is rectified, I will remain an unsatisfied customer and I will not remove this review. Treat your customers like you care, not like another $ sign.

We highly recommend Midwest Moving & Storage for both of their services. We stored 2/3 of our house with Midwest for 2 1/2 years before they moved it to a new residence last week. Most of what was in storage was our high-end furniture. I was apprehensive about how the furniture fared in storage for that long as well as what kind of care and attention was going to be given to it in the move. My worries were for naught. Everything was intact and as if it had never been stored. The two guys Midwest assigned to the move were great- they worked hard, were careful, organized, accommodating, friendly and strong. Just the two of them lifted some pretty heavy items. They took good care of everything they moved off the truck but also of the walls and floors that they passed by and over to get everything in. In addition to the movers, Mark, Natasha, and Charmaine in the office were great too. They were always receptive, responsive and informative. The costs for both storage and moving were reasonable. All in all, we were VERY pleased with Midwest and would recommend them to anyone with moving or storage needs. Way to go, Midwest, and thank you!
