Established in 1950. Our moving license has been active since 1950. All employees are trained movers with a minimum of 2 years experience. Most of our employees have been with us for over 3 years or more. We have very little turnover as our men are well taken care off therefore they take excellent care of our customers. We have many referances available on request. Most of our business is repeat and referal. The key to our success is customer satisfaction.

I had a great experience with Metropolitan. They showed up on time. I wasn't quite done packing because I had a newborn baby and it was harder finding time to pack than I had anticipated. They were nice, the guys worked hard and worked non stop. I bought everyone Burger King and bottled water since it was so much work.It took a while but I have a lot of stuff. Three guys loaded the truck up. They moved me to North Carolina. Two guys unloaded me and it was quick as heck. They weren't the cheapest but they were not the most expensive either. Plus they gave me great perks like free boxes which they delivered to me. Over all, I think they did a great job. I move yearly and have used quite a few movers in Chicago.I plan on using them again.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!I normally don't do reviews whether I have a good or bad experience just for my own personal reasons. However, I would like to save someone the pain and agony I went thru because it was JUST THAT BAD! First of all they overcharged me and I had to dispute the transaction with my bank! They never contested because they knew they were wrong! The movers forced my daughter to sign the document while I wasn't there to argue the charge. They told her they wouldn't empty their truck until she signed and agreed to the charges. Next, they moved me out of a high rise apartment and into a Uhaul storage down the street. The crazy thing about it was that my Apple Computer, 60 inch Flat Screen 3D TV, 4 brand new mountain bikes all never ended up in storage! My guess is they carried it from my house to a nearby vehicle while we waited upstairs for them to return. All I know is that when we went to pack up our cross country moving truck the next 2 weeks it wasn't there. I felt violated and betrayed by what I thought was a reputable company.I highly recommend you pick another company. By the looks of the reviews here...I'm not the only one that feels this way.

This was the ABSOLUTE WORST moving company that I've ever used. First their truck infested my belongings with BedBugs. And when I contacted the owner/manager Howard about the situation. He was extremely rude & later had one of his employees named Bill contact me telling me that I wouldn't have to pay & that he would handle the cost of the move for me. By the next week they still charged the $240.00 on my debit card plus the $50.00 deposit that was never returned back to my card. And when I tried to contact the owner Howard about the changes he never answered my calls. I am now waiting for the Illinois Attorney General's office to process all my paperwork from both landlords stating that there weren't any Bedbugs in either apartment, and my doctor's note stating that the swollen marks on my neck were in fact bug bite & that I had an allergic reaction to their bites. HANDS DOWN WORST MOVING COMPANY & OWNER EVER!!! I wish I could give this company a -5 stars.

They gouged our newly refinished floors. Damaged furniture. Tore the finish off a few other pieces of furniture by putting packing tape directly onto them. Banged the crap out of the walls. It was the worst moving experience we've ever had, and we're left holding the bag on very expensive damage.
