PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ALL OF THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS REGARDING KANGAROO VAN LINES!!! THE NOT TO EXCEED QUOTE IS WORTHLESS!!! The system is making me give them a star they do not deserve!!We got a not to exceed quote from them when their sales rep. came out to hour home in California. So we were confident that their quote would be honored as they were professionals in cubic feet hence why they were there. The day of the move at 1:30am the movers had 95% of our belongings on their truck only to tell us we were over the cubic feet that their company quoted. We talked to their manager Johnny and he told us they were not honoring our not to exceed even though their employee under quoted and we had to pay an additional $3800+ and the $1400+ we were to pay the driver upon delivery or he would instruct the movers to take our property off of the truck right then and there. We advised him that we provided the movers with 1/2 of what their dispatch that day said was due. He was very rude and matter of fact and indicated we either pay the $3800+ or our belongs would be removed from the truck. They knew we had a flight out that morning and just didn't care. We paid the ransom demand and 23 days later, our property is still in LA and we are in GA on an air mattress. We have been calling practically daily with no results. My husband called today and they said it was loaded in LA yesterday. Everyone keeps saying maybe they will make it right and honor the not to exceed after all.......I will not be holding my breath. We have not heard from the sales man Chris from Kangaroo since we tried to contact him the night our property was taken hostage. This is the same man who said when he acquired our business that he would be there to hold our hand until our property was delivered. He answered and responded to every email and text until the night of the problem. We have called him emailed him and nothing.We received another quote from one of the biggest Van Lines who warned us that companies like this will give you lower quotes to get our stuff on the truck and then raise the price once they have your property on the truck because they know you have no choice. We should have listened and went with their quote. It was much higher but we are paying it any way. We just assumed a not to exceed would be honored since they actually came out to see what we had. We actually had less than what we did when he quoted it as we sold serval rooms of furniture? One of the other reviewers said they believe Kangaroo Van Lines are scammers and so do I! I shared that with them in the email I sent at 2am that morning prior to our 6am flight out of CA.....no response. They low balled the quote to get our business! I have filed an formal complaint and noticed they have a BBB complaint that I will be adding to.I feel like our experience has been unnecessary and avoidable. It is bad business and by the looks of all of these recent reviews with no response from Kangaroo Van Lines, THEY JUST DON'T CARE! We must continue to write these reviews and save people the stress that we are experiencing. I did check reviews back in May and did not recall so many negative ones. It looks like the majority are recent:-{I just pray our belongs arrive in tact. This has by far been the worst and unethical service provider I have experienced  and I am not going to let it go! $4k is a lot of money when it wasn't in the plan and not having our belongings just adds insult to injury. I know there is a News On Your Side in Atlanta and I will find someone who will listen.....this just isn't right!

I called about my missing items for several weeks and not getting any phone calls back. horrible! I'm only giving them one star Because the actual movers were very pleasant but then again they're the ones who squished all the boxes and broke all the glass and I can't give no stars

For everyone who has experienced terrible service from this company, I recently interviewed with Pam Zekman, of CBS-2 Chicago regarding Kangaroo's horrible lies and service! It is important to shed light on their shady business practices. This company will not continue to lie and take advantage of customers. Interview will be airing soon!

I would give this company zero stars if I could. They showed up on my doorstep in Illinois in an Enterprise rental truck (not Kangaroo Van Lines) and 2 slovenly guys, 2 weeks ago (mid-August). One guy had his pants pulled down so that his plaid underwear showed. No uniform and nothing to indicated that they worked for Kangaroo. I think they pulled them off one of those day labor lots.  Very unprofessional looking and acting. I gave the sales rep 2 days before the move an exact inventory list of what I was moving and since I packed using movers boxes, they had the exact cubic ft of the boxes.  I had very little furniture.  Guess what, after loading 90% of my things, it was going to cost me $1,000 more than the quote.  How can it be that far off with an exact list and very few odd shaped items? What a scam. They low-balled me to get the move and my deposit.  When I try to call and speak to my sales rep, he is always "unavailable" and they don't reply to emails.   The shipment was going to another state (about 1,200 miles away).  After calling several times asking where my shipment is, I keep getting the same answer " we meet every morning with dispatch and we have you on the list and will let you know when you will get your shipment" (in a very rude tone of voice)  . I get no indication of a time frame for delivery.  It was on a smaller truck and full when I last saw it.  Why didn't that driver just drive it down that next day? They keep telling me that there is a 2 - 14 day window for delivery.  Tomorrow is day 13 and I have heard NOTHING about when it will be delivered. Every time I call I get the runaround and snide remarks about how they legally have until 30 business days to deliver. So are people supposed to just live in a hotel or with friends for 30 days until they decide to give you your things?  I am so upset that I didn't use a "real" moving company like Bekins, Atlas, Allied, or Mayflower.  2 years ago I used Atlas and they were very professional, showed up on time, in an actual van line truck, the driver was in uniform, shook my hand and polite, and delivered my things 2 days after I got there. The couple of items that were broken were reimbursed within a few days.  He had misplaced the rails to the mirror that attaches to my triple dresser.  He drove to Home Depot, bought some replacements out of his own pocket and replaced them that day!! I couldn't believe it. I didn't have to file a claim and wait weeks for parts replacement.  I regret not using Atlas again.  After reading these reviews (after-the-fact), I now wonder if I will ever receive my belongings and if everything will be damaged.  Poor customer service and no regard for understanding that when people move they NEED these things right away.  I wish I had done better research before I hired them. After they charged me the additional $1,000, I didn't save any money at all and could have gone with a reputable firm. Please do not use Kangaroo Van Lines out of Lincolnwood, Illinois!!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.  They lied to us about when our stuff was going to arrive and daily kept saying, it's being loaded in the next couple of days and it wasn't.  They promise they would call us back, and didn't.  People in customer service (when you can reach someone) yelled and lied to me multiple times.  Then when they finally show up they want more money because there big truck wouldn't fit down a New York city street.  Wouldn't you think they would realize that before they give you the quote?  I can't stress enough about how terrible this company is.  STAY AWAY!!
