I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Hillstrom.First of all, I called them less than 24 hours before I needed to move - and at the very end of the month, at that! Bobbi assured me it was no problem. I booked a morning move, beginning between 8 and 9 am. The movers showed up around 8:30 and were super nice and polite. The lead mover guy asked me a few questions about whether I'd prefer certain things to be shrunk wrapped and whether I wanted extra boxes for larger pictures. He was clear about the extra cost and when I asked him for his opinion, he gave me an honest suggestion that actually saved me money. They were incredibly fast and so ridiculously polite! "May I use the bathroom please?" Haha, have at it, moving guys! Moving sucks and in my experience dealing with moving companies sucks just as much - but Hillstrom made a believer out of me. I hope to be in my place for years to come but if I end up not sticking around, I will definitely be calling them again.

The good thing is, I called them on a Thursday and they fit my move in for the following Sunday with no problem.  The cost seemed reasonable on the website and as quoted, now I know why. Another good thing is the crew was nice and pointed out dings on my furniture as to not be told they damaged something later. The cons are: 1. The 3 movers were actually two: An older (60ish) driver who stayed on the truck to organize stuff.  Why did he have to organize stuff on the truck, because they used a 22 footer to move a one bedroom condo, so they had to strap everything in. And, because it was a foot too high they could not drive up to my storage room, they had to use the freight elevator and walk a mile to it.  2. After I told them that we were making two stops, my new home first and my storage room afterward...told them what furniture was going where, they still loaded it backward, taking more time to move stuff out of the way when we got to the first stop.3. They felt the need to wrap everything and used extra tape and boxes without telling me they would do so...didn't see the extra charge until I looked over the bill, after the fact.4. One of the movers broke one of the knobs from my stove and attempted to put it back together with no super glue...not sure what he was going to do. In the shrink wrapping process for my parents bedroom set...if the furniture is standing upright...why not wrap it like that.  There was no need to turn 50 year old furniture on it's side...and notfiy me of how loose some piees are.  The loose pieces are why I asked you to shrink wrap it! 5. They took the legs off my dining room table without asking me first, by the time I realized what they were doing three of the four legs were gone....and they said, don't worry we'll put it back together.  Me knowing that putting it back together would take an extra 30 minutes, I said no thanks. Although It was delivered with legs and I'm sure they aren't supposed to be removed I think we can figure our how to put it back together.6. Lastly, after calling the office to complain on that day, apparently no one speaking a dialect of english that I understood was available, leaving me to complain after the fact.  Upon which I am informed that I was quoted a time fram of six hours and materials of an extra $100 for the move...which I was not!!! The form I signed had none of that written in it, I signed the insurance estimate of costs; the other fields were not complete. Nonetheless, my furniture arrived safe and sound in both places and for that I am grateful.  I do know next time to either trust a boatload of friends to move my stuff or research a little longer. Three days after the fact I should just be happy I'm all moved and no one died in the process, but somehow I feel taken advantage of.

I used this company because someone at work referred them.  They broke the door on my entertainment center beyond repair. I called the office and they told me to file a claim and i would get .30 cents per lb.  Wow so my $300 entertainment center that weights 50 lbs will get me $15.00 - This is a joke - Good thing I don't own a Ming Dynasty vase that weight under a lb, they would have given me 30 Center for it.  Do yourself a favor and don't use them unless your ok with possible parting with something should they break it.  For $15 it wasn't even worth taking the photos and filing out the paperwork they wanted.

Showed up in a budget rent-a-truck with a piece of paper on the side saying "Hillstrom movers" in ink. DON"T DO IT!!! This was the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. They were 4 hours late, and it took forever. They broke a family heirloom rocking chair and said it would be ready in 4 days, it's been a month now and it's still not finished. Bobbi, at the desk has NEVER called me once to communicate anything. Last time I called she said she has 30 days, today she said she has 120 days, ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

I am very disappointed with this moving company and I don't recommend it.  My husband and I moved in mid August and during the move one of our chest drawers broke, it was the fault of the staff who didn't wrap it correctly, we have two of the same and the other one was wrapped differently and didn't break.  To this day in spite of videos, pictures, witness by the very people who moved us, we have yet to receive a response other than somebody will come and check this.  I understand it is just a chest drawer and not a person's life.  But if you are moving antiques or any expensive valuables it is best NOT to use this company at all.  The hassle of you have to deal with because they can't follow up with the claim is unbelievable.  Their customer service is terrible and I am starting to believe they do not have a proper claim's dept. so their hope is for one to forget about the claim.  We will continue and I will also send my review to the Better Business Bureau because nobody should have to wait this long to receive an answer for a claim and get it resolved.  Look for another moving company!!! DO NOT USE HILLSTORM MOVERS!!!
