Our long distance department is constantly moving people to various locations across the country. Being that moving is a service business; we understand the importance of having good customer service. Our moving consultants are always available to answer any questions you may have regarding an upcoming move of yours, or to discuss a move you are looking to do.Additional services that we offer include full packing, box delivery before a move, short-term and long-term storage and full valuation. Golan's is a proud member of the Illinois Better Business Bureau, a 5 time Angie's list award winner, a «ProMover» through the American Moving and Storage Association, and a member of the Illinois Movers and Warehousemen's Association.

History

Established in 1990. Golan's opened its doors in 1990 as a small 3 man moving business servicing the Chicago land area. Through word of mouth the company grew and became too large for the 3 of them to support on their own. By 1995, their fleet had 5 trucks, a small Skokie office and warehouse, and a team to keep things running daily.Continual growth eventually led to a major administrative facility and a warehouse with the capabilities of housing 1,000,000 cubic feet of storage space. In the last 3 years, the company has completed over 20,000 transactions. They currently operate a fleet of 30 trucks between their local and long distance departments.

I'm leaving a 5 star review for an unconventional reason. I'm currently pricing movers and comparing quotes, and when I talked to Tom from Golan's he was honest with me immediately that due to where we are moving they would have to add on a travel charge that will make their price less competitive. This is how business should work. They did not lead me on by going through the estimate process when they knew immediately I might be better served with a company closer to me. Thanks for being honest and not wasting my time, Golan's!

well - my stuff finally arrived. It was. two many crew because Golan is too cheap to pay for the crew needed to actually do this.my kitchen table was snapped in half. the glass on my coffee table was shattered. and my grandmothers rocking chair has a hole in it. oh, and someone in Ohio is missing some bookshelves that the guys tried to give to me. best part - the truck said "who said moving can't be easy" - never has there been a more ironic statement.

Worst service I had, they estimate very less.On the day of pickup they re-estimate high. Later they weight the truck and the weight of the luggage exactly matches the re-estimated size.They promised that their own team with own truck would come and pickup the luggage, but in my case they contracted the pick up to some one else. They promised to weigh the truck before coming to my place, but they never did it. Its all fake....

They don't even deserve 1star ! They were late , sent the wrong size truck . I called the office to complain and they sent an additional crew . The Foreman of the 1st crew and second crew got in a fight over who was in charge ! I broke them up and began directing the crews myself because they were pretty much worthless . Most of my stuff went into storage and I got a call saying that some of the stuff was damaged and they would fix it , but the insurance I bought was not actually insurance! Pretty much the whole experience was a nightmare, and dread the day they bring me my furniture - all I can do is pray !!
