Gentle Giant is the best moving company i've ever used.  As a family of six we've moved a lot of kids to and from college and apartment to apartment.  I will only use them for all other future moves.

I've had a number of movers over the years.   Gentle Giant should have been my first choice.   Movers were fast efficient and very caring of my furniture.The listened to what I wanted and acted professionally.   I'm going to be recommending this company from now on.  And the price was very competitive.

Gentle Giants is a Boston-based company that only recently opened an office in Chicago. I used them to move from Chicago to San Francisco, and as anyone that's done it knows, it is a very stressful decision to chose a company to handle all of your valuable belongings as they traverse across the country. I chose Gentle Giants because they had very positive reviews, a good BBB score, and because they had offices in both Chicago and San Francisco (despite them being the most expensive quote I got, by a long shot) Other companies seem to contract out your move in order to make it cheapest, so it's really a gamble whether or not your move is successful. Planning the move was mildly painful, but I owe most of that to the fact that I didn't have details ironed out on my end. When I went to Gentle Giants, I had no apartment in SF, no move-out date, and no move-in date. Despite this, Jackie worked with me along the way to plan the move.The day of the move, I went to bed with a smile on my face. I was extremely happy with the way Gentle Giants handled/packed my belongings and have no doubt they will end up in SF safe and sound. Richard and James, my movers, were extremely friendly and careful throughout the 8 hours they were with me. Unlike other moving companies, Gentle Giants is not focused on rushing through the job and packing everything just "good enough". Every single object was carefully considered and inventoried, so I have no doubt everything will be flawless on the other end. Gentle Giants is not the cheapest, not the fastest, but they are certainly the most considerate and thoughtful movers I've ever used. I would highly recommend them to anyone that cares about the things they are moving.

Gentle Giant has a long history of moving all sorts of people and all sorts of things to all sorts of places.  They are a Boston-based company with a Chicago office, and the fact that they have advertised very little in Chicago demonstrates a commitment to advertising on the basis of their reputation.  And that can't happen without stellar performance.In our two moves with GG, the company held itself accountable to a stunning degree, from the process of hiring its staff to the use of quality packing materials.  The whole crew on both sides of our most recent 1000-mile move were incredibly thoughtful, punctual, admirably fit (ahem), and attuned to attenuating the stress of moving.  GG will not be the least expensive mover you hire (and likely not the most expensive either), but they are worth every penny, especially if you don't want your possessions lost, damaged, destroyed, or held hostage.

These are the best movers we've ever used. Two weeks prior we used other movers and half of my furniture was damaged. We hired these movers for my mom's move. They were fantastic. They were respectful, wrapped everything so well, were extremely gentle with her things and just worked so hard. Highly recommend.
