College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

This review is not about the movers.  1 star for poor management.  The guys worked hard and took care of my belongings.

I would recommend anyone looking for junk removal plus a move that they get a different company. I moved a 2 bedroom condo and gave an inventory list of the items.  However, the day of the truck ran out of room.  When I called Monday morning to schedule another move to finish I was told that there was no openings for over 1 week, plus at the same cost. It isn't my fault they don't have the truck size to handle the items, if they were concerned about the available space then I would have expected them to propose 2 separate trips or quote me a second truck or come out for an evaluation. Am I expected to turn them away when they show up? And loose my deposit? 24 hours later after asking to speak with a manager and no response....update I called back and spoke with a manager who refused any discount for the second move.

What do you do when you order 1200 square feet of tile and it's going to be delivered the next day, curbside...I called the hunks and they took the stress out of the situation.Their friendly and helpful customer service rep arranged for two of their professional uniformed guys to move all that tile inside from the garage. The day of the delivery (the next day), my hunks (Trushant and Prashant) confirmed that I still needed them and their timing. When they showed up, they were very professional - confirmed what I needed, where they were putting the tile, pricing, etc. They worked so hard and did such a good job. I was shocked that they were able to move all of that tile in less than an hour! This is the second time I've used the hunks, and I was again impressed by their responsiveness, great customer service, and professionalism of the hunks that came to my home! I will be calling them again!

CJ and Trushant from College Hunks were a huge help cleaning out my storage unit that had been sitting full of my unused, but donate-able "junk", for far too long .  As promised, they called 20 minutes prior to arrival, examined my storage unit, provided a very reasonable quote, and moved everything out in under half an hour.CJ and Trushant provided great service and even better peace of mind for a reasonable price.  I'm happy to have one less nagging item on my to-do list.  I only wish I had called sooner!

Had to call them last minute (literally the day before moving) to haul off some furniture and help move. Jordan (owner) returned my call, said they could help and most furniture is repurposed.Got behind schedule with UHaul screwing everything up but Jordan (Yes, the owner showed up to help) and his crew SAVED THE DAY for us.Very courteous and got us moved quickly; couldn't have done it without them. Great guys and a great company!

All that follows is fully documented in emails & photos to College Hunks (CH). Job: Clear out mess left behind by hoarder at 1,100 sq. ft (inc. closets) 3rd flr condo.08/07: In-person estimate (recv'd in documented email). Job will cost $1,000 to $1,400.08/12: 3 guys, 1 clearly too-small truck. We leave for a while. Back a couple hours later, they're throwing things out 3rd flr window to truck below. No chute. Did not ask if this was OK. Us: "Better not damage the building or the 2nd flr neighbor's air conditioner." Back a couple hours later, see huge ax in 1 rm "to break up furniture". Job NOT completed. Broken glass in storage locker. Debris in alley where truck was parked. We cleaned up.08/13: 2nd flr neighbor: CH damaged his air conditioner & window frame & "personal papers were flying everywhere". 08/16: Forced to pay addt'l $500 to get CH to finish job. We discover fresh chunks hacked out of wooden flr in 1 rm. When 2nd addt'l $500 job purportedly completed, handed haulers items still left behind in cupboards. Various emails/dates and 1 phone call to CH boss. Forced to listen to the man complain how hard this job is for CH.08/21 CH auto cust. survey recv'd. Completed. Auto response indicates CH opened a claim. CH boss emails me. Indicates he's upset that I "filed a claim". Denied they damaged floor (It wasn't an "ax" he says, it was a "maul" and "they didn't use it" - CH boss was never at our place, although we invited him to come see the damage). Denied that CH damaged neighbor's a/c and window frame. My email documentation of damages called "accusations". Waiting for main office to address claim...08/30? 31? call CH central. Their solution for claim: send me back to job boss. No. I want his boss to contact me. CH says they'll contact "legal".09/12 Still waiting to hear from CH.CH tagline: Zero hassle, zero stress & zero clutter. Video (website): no stress / will provide binder. Actual experience: serious stress. High cost. No "binder" provided (CH boss didn't even know what that was) & although I said it several times to CH boss & headquarters, never recv'd our copy of the job doc. (no "job done" sig. from me - CH boss says my extra $500 serves that purpose). We're out $1,400 + $500 +$140 for neighbors new a/c. Neighbor filing insurance claim re: window frame. And we're still waiting to hear from College Hunks.
