After reading about the nightmares that other reviewers had, I had my fingers crossed during the entire duration of our move. All in all, aside from a few hiccups here and there, we were generally satisfied with the work that Best Price did.Pros: - Nearly all of our effects arrived intact, with the exception of a cracked lampshade.- The price was reasonable and the final payment ended up being very close to the initial estimate.- The moving itself was very quick and efficient - boxes were hauled in and out and all our furniture was properly disassembled where necessary. Also, the pick-up movers did an excellent job padding and wrapping everything.Cons:- It was evident that the handling of our boxes was a little rough since a lot of them were squashed pretty good. But as stated above, almost nothing was broken. - By far, our biggest complaint is how the timing all worked out. For a move from Chicago to Boston, they ended up taking 11 days to deliver, which was not unexpected, but still a long time for us to be without a lot of necessities. The worst part was communicating exactly when the movers would arrive: for pick-up, they came 1.5 hours after the given window and for drop-off, they came nearly 4 hours after the window.- Communication was mediocre - we had to call the dispatcher for things we were expecting a call for.- We ended up having to pay a $300 surcharge since our street in Boston didn't allow for a 53' trailer.- When the drop-off movers arrived, they couldn't find an adequate loading zone and had to park a bit farther away. Because of this, they tried to charge an additional $75 "long walk" fee. We negotiated this away though because we were already being charged $300 for the shuttle access and we weren't informed we needed some parking spaces for the loading (which we could have gotten in advance if notified). We did appreciate them being willing to waive the fee.For the most part, the job was done satisfactorily for a reasonable price. I can't attest to what happened with the other reviewers but I will heartily encourage everyone to pad/bubble/wrap the living crap out of glassware/ceramic/fragile items. We were able to get away without any broken things.

If I could give negative stars I would.  This company is a joke. DO NOT use them!!  They are unprofessional, a scam of a company, and end of charging you more money than they promise you with a fixed quote. I read a lot of reviews before picking a company. So many people say these things,  but others say great things, so I chalked it up to disgruntled customers.  Please read this and accept every word... this company is a mess. First off they sub contract out your delivery and or pick up.  By the time I got my stuff, 3 companies had been involved.  I was told I could make my final payment on a credit card. When they arrived that was not the case and I was forced to pay cash. I was also forced to pay the balance before they even moved the stuff in, which is also unacceptable, as I had damaged items upon delivery. The people that work there are morons. I left Diane, they head of disbatch, numerous messages with no return call. Mary is rude and obnoxious, and when not wanting to answer my questions hung up.  They then screen your calls, and instead of answering hem, automatically forward to someone's voicemail so you can't get through. Even their own delivery people had this issue! They will tell you you can figure out a pretty accurate delivery date with them (I had to move on the first due to building move in assignments. When I called to set it up, they said it was a 10 day window, excluding weekends, and hen only way to guarantee even a 48 hour window was to pay an additional $1600!   They ended up showing up on the 3rd, even though I called them on June 22nd!!!The only thing good about this company was the movers themselves. Nice people. Hard working.  Even the ones who picked up my stuff said the company is a mess and they would never hire movers based on everything they've seen. I tipped the guys because I felt so bad for them, even though I didn't want to shell out any more money for this joke of a company and poor excuse for "professional movers."  They charged me the same amount for 4 delivery guys on the pickup as they did for 2 delivery guys on the delivery-- unacceptable. The best tip I could give to their movers is to find a new company to work for that actually IS professional. Do NOT hire these people. FYI they are subcontracted out by EZ movers, another scam company with all the same issues. Beware!!!!

They charged way more than the moving broker quoted, lied about the weight!  BEWARE!  We went with the driver to weigh the truck empty and then went back with him to weigh it loaded.  I have the photos!!  BUT they will hold you items hostage until you pay their price no matter what evidence you have.  What they did was have an empty tank of gas when they picked my load up.  Once they left they filled their tank with gas and then went and weight my load with a full tank of gas.  Lost my table and now will not return my calls!  Many of my items were badly damaged and the employees are very rude.  TRUST A MIDWEST HONEST PERSON!  Keep looking for another company with better reviews to move your possessions.  I would have never hired this company had I not gotten sucked into a moving broker who was also a nightmare!  Don't hire Liberty Bell Moving either!

DO NOT USE BEST PRICE or ALLSTATE VAN LINES RELOCATION!BP Movers was assigned by Allstate Van Lines. They showed up on time and then things went south...fast.1) STOLEN MONEY - our babysitter helped with the move. she put her purse in the bathroom so it would be safe and out of the way. One of the movers was in the bathroom for a while. She went in and retrieved her pursue. After the movers left, she realized that $200 of the $1000 she had in her purse had been taken. This was money that she was sending back to Africa for her sick sister. This was after I bought the movers cold water, two large pizzas for lunch, and two large pizzas for dinner. When I brought this to the attention of our customer service rep, she replied "there's no way that you can prove it."2) FEE SWITCHEROO - Our Allstate rep "Kirk Moulton" worked on the agreement up front. we paid a downpayment and "Kirk Moulton" specifically told us that we were NOT to pay the movers upon pickup, but that the remainder was due upon delivery. The day after pickup, "Samantha Witter" from BP Moving called asking for an additional $3660. We told her that "Kirk Moulton" specifically told us that was not the agreement. BP Movers held our belongings hostage until we made the payment.3) FINAL INSULT - the day before the movers arrived, we received a final bill from BP Movers that was $552.14 HIGHER than the "binding" agreement we signed. I asked why this happened. I was told that because we had less weight, we were credited $644, however, there was more packaging material used than expected. This leads me to the conclusion that for LESS weight, we required $1,196.14 in packaging material.Throughout this process - "KIRK MOULTON" was the invisible man.DO NOT USE BEST PRICE or ALLSTATE VAN LINES RELOCATION

Do not use. Couldn't speak worse of communication and business practices for this company. It's so hard to find a good and honest moving company but Best Price is not the answer.
