Spartan Moving

We scheduled movers this time around because we only had two days to get everything from our old apartment to our new one.  We booked Spartan movers a couple weeks in advance and they slotted us with a 2 hour AM window for the movers to arrive.  Our new apartment ended up not giving us the keys the day before so we weren't going to have the new keys on time.  I called to ask if they could arrive on the later end of the 2 hour window and the Spartans were able to accommodate us.  They sent a truck with three guys, Elias, Luis, and Gabriel.  They were all respectful and accommodating and kept us in the loop as they loaded up the truck.  They cleared out our apartment very quickly, so quickly we still didn't have the keys by the time the finished loading the truck.  Moving into the new place was a breeze, went a lot quicker than loading up and the Spartans finished quicker than I had thought they would.  Great team, quick courteous and professional.

Miguel, Leo, and Juan were friendly, fast, and professional. They were super careful, and our furniture and house were 100% undamaged. A little pricey, but highly recommended.

We recently used Spartan Moving for a local move.  All went smoothly with the first leg; guys showed up on time, packed up the house very efficiently, truck loaded, etc.Three very disappointing things happened upon arrival: 1- We moved into a multi-level house, and despite boxes being marked, MANY of the boxes were left on the wrong floors, leaving us with a lot of work after they left.  Unfortunately, in the chaos of moving, I didn't notice all of it until later.2- They left a ton of marks and small dings in the walls/new paint.  Again, in the rush of walking through the house and getting the movers out of there, I didn't notice these until later.3- This is the big one.  Most of the items arrived at the new house with no issues.  The one box the guys dropped down a flight of stairs happened to be my fine china, which was a wedding gift.  Ouch.  We (and they) took pictures of all the broken pieces.  Luckily, the department store where it was purchased still carried that pattern so I was able to itemize each piece and calculate the value in the claim forms.  A full month later, I received a letter from their claims group saying they are willing to pay a whopping $60, which is a fraction of the value of what the movers broke.  Ridiculous.  Regardless of who they have as their claims provider, Spartan Moving is responsible and has provided incredibly poor service.  I would highly recommend you find another moving company with better policies.

The Spartan crew are all about safety and professionalism. I had moved a few times in my life and by far the best experience was with Spartan. We moved from San Jose, CA to Park City, UT.

My last follow up to this moving drama.  After 6 exhausting months of seething patience, MoveInsure finally closed my claim.  READ your contract carefully as they will pull one over on you if they can.  They finally paid out my losses totaling nearly $3,500.  I will NEVER use Spartan again.  Need I say more?
