Spartan Moving Systems

Disappointed does not even begin to describe our feelings with Spartan. We are appalled by the customer service, process, and overall move. We hired them (based on positive reviews, which I am now extremely confused by) to move our 2BR apartment from CA to Massachusetts. When we finally received our belongings, the boxes were in terrible shape, we had some of our furniture damaged, and some furniture broken. To top it off, they LOST A BOX. How do you lose a box - this is your job. Memories we will never get back (including our son's baby books), with 0 apology or explanation from Spartan..and we've had to follow up several times to see what our next steps are. They're so quick to charge us and get their money, but once paid they do not care anymore. They are not trustworthy or reliable, terrible customer service, and need to work on their overall internal communication - if you actually care about your things, I'd definitely look elsewhere for your move. Awful experience.

Once again, as a community manager of a large apartment complex  in San Jose, I utilized the services of Spartan Moving Systems and once again I'm giving them a five star review! The key word for their efficiency is in the name "Systems".

I hired Spartran to move me last month and they sent a truck with 3 guys to move 1.5 bedroom apartment (1 bedroom plus a home office) to a small townhouse about 5 miles away. It took them 6.5 hours to do the move and i felt that there was only 2 guys working at any given moment in time; had to go downstairs and check to see what was the third guy doing a couple times. Moving 1.5 bedroom apartment shouldn't have taken 6.5 hours especially when there was an elevator for them to use and no assembly of furniture was required. It took another company 4 hours total to move the same furniture the previous time.They arrived on time and overall they did ok but again they took too much time to get the job done. If you ever hire them make sure they give you an estimate before hand, otherwise they will take forever to do the work and charge you by the hour.I'm surprised they have that many good previews, they must be paid reviews.

Great service from beginning to end.Very responsive upon first inquiry by phone. Good email follow up before the move, including reminder emails.Pablo and his team turned up on time with all the right equipment. Went straight to work. On the unpacking end the team had to leave their truck at the top of our driveway as it's pretty steep. This meant more work for them but they got the job done.No breakages or issues during the moveGood follow up afterwards by text to make sure everything went well.

I have moved six times in seven years within the Bay Area, and this is the first time I used Spartan.  It was an excellent experience.  They called half an hour before coming over, came slightly early, and were prepared to work hard.  The stuff had to moved to several locations, and I walked through with the supervisor and told him which went where.  He never had to ask later, and did it all right.  Everything was very carefully wrapped up, including a piano, and they didn't ding the doors with some heavy and large furniture like some movers do.  The only reason I give four stars is that were was a lot of paperwork to fill out.  I guess it is for legal protection.  I definitely will call them next time I move, maybe in a year.  They worked very diligently.
