I have used Mike for several of my own moves as well as referring many others to him.  He does a great job.  The best experience that I have seen when working with him,  is to have his crew come in the day before and prepare the house for the actually move.  It prevents from marathon moving days.

My experience with this company was both positive and negative. I will start with negative side. It seems like they are really not organized, I tried to make sure to arrange to meet at the specific Uhaul location like 3 times to make sure the communication went correct. And he still showed up at other Uhaul location, it was not a big deal but maybe the area to improve?And I initially hired 2 guys but one guy got sick and only one person showed up. So the move ended up taking longer time than we all thought, plus my boyfriend helped a lot to cover the second person who got sick.And lastly, probably because the mover is only one person, it hurt some of my furniture. I realized after I started to arrange my new place and found many scratches on one of my favorite furniture.Plus side, the one guy who came to do his job, he did work very hard. I expect that and I do appreciate that. I would give him 4 stars. Although because of the whole thing went out of our plan and we all worked extra hours that there was some sour feeling left.I think as a business, if they can organize better and always have backup people to cover the clients as you promised, it would improve the whole experiences. That would end up having movers to get more tips and we would have been all happier. Moving is already a hassle, and more hassle from moving services who supposed to make things easier is the last thing we want.Great job tho, the mover guy who tried to take care the situation.

I used them about 6 years ago, it was a horrible experience.  The first two guys that were sent had to leave because 1 was ill.  That was understandable, but then he promised to get someone else out there and I waited until 4pm for them to show up.  They covered nothing and there was a hole in the roof of the truck.  It began raining that afternoon and my mattress and the T.V. took the brunt of the storm.  He dried my mattress out and brought it to me a few weeks later and it was fine.  The big t.v. (not a flat screen) we had to haul to a dump.  As per the crew:  One guy was had the worst body odor ever, the other who we waited so long for because he was at church with his wife and kids that day got my phone number off the work order and began calling to tell me that he "was attracted to me" but would not say who he was for 3 weeks and it was a creepy experience because he not only had my old address where I still stayed for a few month, but he had my new address too.  The stinky guy showed up at my house a few times and asked if he could take a shower.  He was also interested in some old furniture that I said I was giving away.  Using a ball point pen, he wrote something on a single sheet of paper on top of a pine table, the number is scratched so hard onto the table that it still shows.  All the signs were there, I should have cancelled when the guys went home sick.  I would not use them again if they offered to work for free.

I've hired Mike's Moving a number of times and for different types of moving and have had only excellent service regardless of the type of job. I think three times now I've hired Mike's to pick up and deliver appliances or furniture; each instance, the driver and helper were on time, were efficient and cleaned up when it wasn't really part of their job to deal with the wrappings, etc. Last summer we moved to Santa Cruz for six months from the Bay Area and hired Mike's to handle both moves. The moves were completed quicker than expected and the price beat everyone else that I called for estimates. I've recommended Mike's service to everyone I know who's looking for a reputable mover.

I had a negative experience with this company.  Initially I asked for a written quote for the cost of moving a one bedroom apartment from the tri-valley area to Oakland, CA.  He would not send me a quote in writing but told me over the phone it would be $350.00. and against better judgement I hired them anyway.  Two men arrived, and within an hour of arrival, one of the men asked to use the restroom and let me tell you, I had to open every window and leave the stench was so vile.  Back to the moving -  I had wrapped and boxed all of my own items and bagged all of my clothing and had it easily accessible for them.  They did not cover a single piece of furniture and treated most of it as if it were cheap, which was not the case.  They rolled my 2500 dining table on the ground to move it.  Before traveling to Oakland, he materialized a quote sheet and made some strange offer of only charging me for a half hour drive to Oakland.  Ok, whatever...  Upon arrival, they took forever unloading to the point where I was helping unload and when all was said and done he charged us roughly $600.00.  His reasoning was that because I didn't have a dedicated elevator to carry the move out items in the first apartment, it took much longer than expected.  (I did have a dedicated elevator at the new place.)  He also tried to sell me furniture and hire someone he knows as a maid. This was a bad experience and I would not recommend this company.  I would get something in writing if you were considering hiring.
