Brother Movers

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with Brother Movers. I am going to summarize our experience:

1) They were on-time and the loading/unloading process seemed to be going smoothly. Later I found it wasn't smooth at all.

2) After they left, I started to find damaged furnitures everywhere: They damaged our almost new TV; the TV stand, some dishes, and a chandelier (pictures attached in Yelp and Google reviews.)

3) I understand that during the moving process some accidents are likely and a broken dish here and a scratch there is unavoidable, but the extent of damage to our furniture is so huge (couple of thousands of dollar) that it only shows a pattern of negligence and ultimate carelessness.

4) In the case of chandelier, they put the broken glass piece back in its place and didn't even tell us about it. Later when we were walking in the dining area, the broken piece just fell off and it could've hurt someone.

5) Their rate is not reasonable at all; In fact what kind of business includes a mandatory and hefty tip in their rate? Isn't it up to the customer to decide the tip?

6) When I contacted them and told them about the damages, Jack was apologetic but didn't offer much more. He kept saying you should've bought better insurance.

Worst moving service ever!!! I will never use them again! I wish I could give 0 star!!One of my friends recommended brother movers so I gave them a try. Totally disappointed. They showed up on time but didn't do the work as expected. They were working at a slack pace, talking and laughing to each other all the time. I could feel that they were trying to go slow because this is hourly paid.Then the worst thing happen. One of the workers, short and bald, asked me for BEER! I refused but he kept asking. I got angry and told the guy to show some self-restraint. Can you imagine his reaction? He said some words in Mandarin and walked to the refrigerator, opened it, and took my beer out!!!! I was totally shocked! Never seen such thing happen! I can't believe brother movers got so many good reviews on yelp, maybe I had bad luck they assigned this absurd guy to me. The manager or owner of brother movers should fire this guy (short and bald) if they want to keep their business running. Beware!

Although prompt service and polite, by far worst moving experience. I have things literally gouged and packed with things that don't belong together. It will likely take me 3 months to sort through the boxes because things were literally dumped in together, not placed- dumped. Drawers which should have been Saran wrapped with things in tact were dumped into huge boxes and mixed. They came from 8- 7 with a 4/5 man crew. I believe with a crew that big it should be faster and better. One truck's battery died and they packed up things they weren't supposed to. So now I will have to move those things back to the place I was or pay to dump those. I moved from one Midwest town to a 3 story apt w no stairs and a crew of 2 in half the time they took, with packing so organized and clearly marked that it took me a few days to unpack... of and it was snowing. A snow storm. And a 3hr commute. In snow. Oh and it was a 5 bedroom house. This was 5.5 bed house and in sunny California. Much better conditions.  Maybe it's that midwestern work ethic, but they put this company to....anyways.Although the men were courteous (albeit a dual language barrier (day laborers?)- so therefore unsure if we were communicating correctly or not- or just being placated and brushed aside  - keep that in mind) and they were available on short notice, I would not use their service again. The bill was higher than quoted, which would have been fine if it was done a bit more professional. They also left their soda cans all over the house. They weren't horrible, but for 3 grand I think you can find better. I'm also very impressed by some people's packing experience pictures- mine looked nothing like that. who did they get and who did I get? edit update: Brand new  bamboo flooring scratched everywhere- ruined. They put carpet mover/slidy thingies on hardwood and scratched the shit it of it. They "helped put the bed on the frame and put it in with the metal frame against the wall and shaved a huge portion of my brand new baseboards. thanks guys! so great. Had I not pulled the bed back from the wall to change the sheets, i wouldn't have known...no wonder it didn't move on those scratched floors- it was locked in place on a shaved baseboard!boxes that were packed with things impaled scratched the floors as well. My childrens 8x10 school and preschool photos completly broken out of fames. Oh and my engagement photo shattered as well....because you know, they were put miscellaneously on the bottom part of a huge box! Box full of clean linens....where are they? no worries ma'am you'll find them 3 months from now in your spider garage. Underneath all your unmarked boxes of who knows what.  I will post pictures very soon. Like your house? like your appliances? like your memories? Use a different company, I doubt they could afford t fix what they ruined. total nightmare.

We were recommended to Brother Movers by a coworker and I'm so glad we chose them.  We had three movers to move our 3 bed/2bath house.  From the minute they arrived (10 minutes early) they MOVED. They were incredibly fast and focused, but they also took great care with our things. Furniture was wrapped, glass safely stowed and everything we had fit into their truck on one trip.  Watching them load everything into the truck was like a puzzle and they made it all fit. Once at the new house, they were incredibly quick about getting things unloaded but they also took the time to place them wherever we wanted and unwrapped things. Including a few tough to fit bulkier items.  They also placed red walk carpets down everywhere to protect our floors. The entire process took about six hours- under their estimate. It was amazing. They were friendly, courteous, respectful of us and our things and I would hire them again in an instant. They made our move so much better. Hire them. You'll be glad you did.

Dong, Song and San arrived early to move my piano and patiently waited for me to arrive! They were very hard working and were able to get my new piano up several steps.  I would hire them again for certain!
