History

Established in 1985. Two Men and a Truck® started in the early 1980s as a way for two brothers to make extra money while they were in high school. Now, more than 30 years later, the company has grown to over 330 locations worldwide. Brothers Brig Sorber and Jon Sorber started moving people in the Lansing, Mich., area using an old pickup truck. Their mom, Mary Ellen Sheets, developed a logo to put in a weekly community newspaper. That stickmen logo still rests on every truck, sign, and advertisement three decades later.After the brothers left for college, Sheets continued to field calls for moving services while she also worked a full-time data processing job with the State of Michigan. In 1985, she decided to make things official by purchasing a 14-foot truck for $350 and hiring a pair of movers. That $350 is the only capital Sheets has ever invested in the company.

WARNING!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEIR LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONALISM IS ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING....There was not an option to give no stars or I would have. I cancelled work for a day to move and Sylvia in customer service called me 30 minutes after they were supposed to arrive and told me that they would not be unable to come and scheduled me for Friday. Scheduled arrival for Friday was 8 am. The driver called me at 8:15 am and said they were leaving their office and would be there be at 8:45. I waited until 9:30, tried calling with no answer and left to go to work. Sylvia called me at 10:00 am and said that the drivers were at my house and because I wasn't there they were going to charge me $238 for cancellation. I tried to speak with her about my frustration and why I had to leave after losing 2 days or work and she could care less. I went back to the house and arrived at 10:30am and the drivers weren't even there. Sylvia said that they went to the wrong location after I had given them clear directions... I waited another 20 minutes for them to arrive. When the drivers showed up finally, they were careless and threw everything into boxes without labeling or separating anything. From the time they arrived it took them 2 hours total to pack and get everything into my storage unit as I only had a studio. I was told I would not be charged for drive time from their location to my home only from the time they arrived to drop off to my storage. My original contract was for a total of $292.00 and my credit card was charged for $620.00!!!! They added double drive time and started my move time at 8am even though they didn't show up until 11am.I have contacted corporate several times and they tell me they are franchised and would contact them and never received another response. I have tried contacting local offices with one email of an automated response and called over 6 times with no response. I had to dispute with my bank and the whole situation has been a total nightmare from beginning to end.The level or unprofessionalism of this company is astounding! I am a business owner myself and if I treated my clients this way I wouldn't have any.If you are looking to move I would highly recommend you chose someone else to save you the headache I have had to go through.

These guys were terrible. They packed and stored my household goods, mixed them in with people's stuff, and couldn't find my things the day of delivery to my new place. They lost several of my items and damaged a lot of my furniture. I filed a claim 2 weeks ago and still have not heard back from anyone. Oh and did I mention when my things arrived, one of the speed boxes had my stuff with someone else's stuff and among the items was a marijuana pipe. If you care at all about your stuff, DON'T use this business.

Love these guys. They were so professional and worked hard to get my bf apartment wrapped up packed and loaded drove from Vista to Hemet and unloaded and helped us get all the furniture organized and in place. I highly recommend this company for any of your moving needs. 5 star for sure

I am happy to say that Giselle in the office really helped me. I understand that things happen, and I am practical about that. So in the end, yes I am happy with their services. My table did get paint taken off, but Giselle helped resolve the situation. She is incredibly professional, and I think that Two Men Moving Company is very lucky to have her. As I said earlier, things happen sometimes, and mistakes happen how somebody fixes it is really what's important, and I am satisfied with how this company resolved the issue of the scratches on my table. I would trust them again and use their services.
