I take my Elite badge seriously and realize our reviews carry both weight and relevance. For that reason I will state my experience with Charger Moving factually and unemotionally. Chargers Moving is an Orange County based company that operates locally in the San Diego area using rented U-Haul trucks. My move was scheduled from a temporary apartment to a nearby house. I told the movers upon arrival I needed help with larger items and pointed out which ones I wanted them to move. And then... 1. Movers began taking little things like artwork off of the walls. Not that stuff guys. Already not as instructed. Possibly done because they are compensated hourly and I'd assume this fluff pads the time card. 2. They moved and scratched the casing of a new wide screen TV after being asked not to move it. Still not listening. I had been moving some small items into my car but in retrospect should have not left these gentlemen unattended at this point. 3. The furniture items were not carried, but mostly slid and jammed through doorways and subsequently damaged. They did have dolly carts that were minimally used. Damage ranged from a hole torn through the bottom lining of a couch to multiple scratches on wooden legs. 4. One of the movers pretty much dropped everything he wasn't jamming through a doorway. Mattresses had dirt stained areas due to contact with the ground where they had been dropped. 5. After being asked to re-position a mattress to the downstairs area of the house one mover suggested, "let's just throw it off the master bedroom balcony and it will land in the grass". This is no exaggeration. It amazes me even to write this quote let alone to have heard it. 6. The same employee had found a metal table at the apartment area and decided to bring it with him. To add insult to injury he literally bounced the table leg off of the back of my car as he crossed the street. Unbelievable. The words, "Are you @&#% kidding me?", did roll off of my tongue at that point. 7. At completion of the move one mover came in and said (to me) of the other, "That guy destroys my tips. He does nothing but trash people's furniture".What Chargers Moving did to resolve the issue... * The owner returned calls promptly and with courtesy. * The owner came to inspect damage and offered to come treat scratched wooden areas with a repair paint. He contacted me to arrange a time to come complete this task. * The employee who caused the majority of the damage will apparently no longer be retained. My heart goes out this guy but he's definitely in the wrong business. Hopefully he regains employment in a demolition field. My issues in attaining proper resolution.   * Permanently damaged expensive furnishings. This wasn't disposable dormitory furniture. The owner suggested I make a personal insurance claim and that his "total loss" value (based on weight) would amount to very little. No pieces were total loss but simply damaged. I don't know California statutes regarding no-fault losses or if this falls into such a category however personally feel this is not the right thing to do. * There was permanent damage to items that were specifically instructed to not be moved or touched. I asked these valuables not be moved for specific reasons. This was bonus damage. In the end I was literally charged for the time it took them to move as well as damage it! * Absence of any compensatory credit from Chargers Moving for damages done by their employees but rather a suggestion to run it through my own insurance. In 128 reviews this is my first one star rating. This rating reflects my experience and in my opinion states the case as factually as possible. I could rant but based upon the above facts I simply suggest any potential clients of this company have an understanding of what they may come up against as well as Chargers Moving Co.'s methods of resolution.

Moving is usually a headache but Chargers Moving made it a piece of cake. When I first spoke to Tom, he answered all my questions, gave me great insight & immediately made me feel like our move was in good hands. On the day of the move, Chuck & Robert were a phenomenal! They were fast, hard working, friendly, professional & a joy to work with!  On top of all that, they were very reasonably priced.  We will definitely recommend them to anyone whose looking to move!

Do NOT use this company!  Completely misled.  It ended up costing TWICE what I was told! They have business cards that advertise 2 movers, 2 hours, $149...don't believe it! The movers talk more than they do anything else.  I had a little apartment that didn't have much in it, and ended up paying almost $400! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! (Oh, and they truck on the card is not the truck they show up in! It's an old little U-Haul....if you actually have a lot of furniture, expect multiple trips).

This move was so bad I almost told them to take everything off the truck and go away after about 1/3 of my stuff was on it. Scratched my furniture because they didn't use the pads (or only put them on top not between furniture). Asked me for stomach medicine cause one of the guys wasn't feeling well (weird). Refused to take the handle off the fridge so they could get it out the door (this was a new one- I move every 5 years and have never encountered this). Said they couldn't get my armoire up the stairs so it's sitting in my garage- gonna have to hire someone else to bring it up. Washed their faces in my kitchen sink (yuk). Tried to put a fragile antique table on the bottom of the truck and then pile boxes on top of it (thank God I caught this). And...drum role please...one guy hugged me at the end of the job. He was soaking wet in sweat and just ICK!! Oh and I forgot- the owner tried to get me to pay for more guys to help because it was likely to take 10-12 hours or more. Yeah right. We did it in 5.5 hours. The one thing I have enjoyed about this company is reading the snarky responses from the owner to customers bad reviews. Read them- they're hysterical.Wish I had looked at these YELP reviews before I hired them.  Avoid these guys.

I believe they set up a system that you call and book and the owner manager Tom I believe hires guys and tells them to rent a u haul truck etc...Takes twice time. They moved my stuff in the living room. Left everything there did not carry them to bedrooms. ..Just a heads up... Red flag. Not reliable not accurate
