Local san diego father and son team. Such a pleasure to work with. Really reasonable pricing, no extra added hidden fees. Very prompt, respectful of all our items, moved fast and efficiently. We were recommended by a friend and we are so glad we had Around Town move us this time. THANK YOU JIM!!! :) :)

This review is for the son of this father and son business.  I live across the street from Vinny who told me about the business so I  asked if I could hire them to help me move. He was kind of flaky with details and planning, I never did get a straight answer...that should have been the only warning I needed.  He said "I can help you load a UHaul and get you moved, no problem" At that point I didn't see anything amiss with asking to pay him to help me move 2 loads of heavy furniture 4 miles down the road. I got the Uhaul and Vinny texts me and says he can help tomorrow morning. PERFECT!! I told him twice that I had to have the uhaul back by 3 the next day. He said he would come "Tetris that shit in there and get most of your stuff moved in one or two trips to save you $ on mileage". Tomorrow "morning" comes and Vinny shows up at 11:47 with a young guy who had never worked a day in his life. They had to unload a lot of stuff and reorganize it. Spent an hour doing that then said "we are going to go grab a bite to eat."  After their 2 hour lunch break, Vinny tells us we have to wait another 15 minutes for his friend to eat lunch so he could help us while Vinny went to get a dolly. We didn't leave until 3:25!!!!! It took over an hour for Vinny to text and tell me 'sorry for the delay, he got a speeding ticket.'  He gets there, unloads a couple things then says "see you back at your place for another load" this is where things get SUPER shady.Had to pay Uhaul for a 2nd day, had to drop off my friend. I get home and Vinny says "I usually would never do this, you can even ask my dad, it's not what we are about and I hate asking but we want to score a bag of weed and we're like 20 bucks short. Do you think you can pay me some of the money now?" I asked him to give me a ride to the ATM because the ramp to the truck was down, he said no because his wife would get pissed. I had to walk to 7-11 and in my own stupidity, I pulled out enough for the whole job and I paid him $80! Vinny then disappeared for another 2 hours, came back and loaded a dresser into the truck then says "we are going to go grab a bite to eat." And off he goes.  He comes back at 7:45p and said his friend left, he was waiting to see if a random neighbor could help him and "we can just finish tomorrow" Uh....NO WAY!!! This should have been done by 3!!! I ask Him, "where am I supposed to sleep tonight?!" He apologized, said he felt bad and "wanted to make it right" He said "I may be able to borrow a truck from my dad to move the couch"  He then put my mattresses in the truck so I could move them over and sleep on a bed. I asked, 'can you even unload this stuff alone because I'm disabled and can't lift anything?!" He said no. The dresser is too heavy. So I tell him at this point to unload the truck so I could be done with this bullshit. I was tired, frustrated, starving and needed to get to sleep.  Vinny said he would have his wife wake him up at 7 to unload the truck but by now, I can't trust him to get anything done and I certainly can't rely on him to borrow a truck and besides, your 7 am is more like noon....no thanks! I go home and start unloading the truck and look over, Vinny had closed up his house and turned in for the night. I was stunned and started yelling "are you SERIOUSLY not going to help me unload this truck?!" Vinny's friend came over to help and here comes Vinny, flying off the handle, yelling at me and roughly shoving my stuff in the garage. I thought he was going to throw my furniture on the ground! He was yelling that "today was a fucking wash for me anyway because I got a fucking speeding ticket that never would happened if I wasn't going to get YOU a dolly! I'd rather just wash my hands of you and be done with this bullshit!" I reminded him that I was paying him for his time and it wasn't my fault that you got a ticket for going 93 in a 65!!!!Now my stuff is half outside getting drizzled on and half jammed into the garage, kids & I  have nowhere to sleep, I'm out $170, I have to rent a truck AGAIN and I have to take a day off of work to finish. 9 hours to move a 650 sq ft duplex and in the end he left my couch, TV, 3 dressers, 3 beds, patio furniture, artwork (one frame was damaged when he shoved it in the garage) plus 4 bikes and a bunch of boxes.  ALL of it is still at my old house waiting to be moved, he took two, two hour 'lunch' breaks, asked for prepayment so he could buy weed AND damaged my belongings while throwing a temper tantrum because HE got a speeding ticket and couldn't get his shit together enough to finish the job! AND I GAVE him a brand new weed whacker and a $350 commercial 13x13 ft pop up awning!  I SPECIFICALLY told him I needed professional movers! There is nothing AT ALL professional about the drama this fool just put me through!!!

The father and son team were so nice, professional and helped me on short notice to move my sons furniture and stuff to his new place, Their price was the best I found and to top it off, they packed and wrapped all fragile items at no charge. They were fast and efficient. I told all my friends and neighbors and will recommend to whoever asks me. Thanks so much for your help!Kathy W.

I've been meaning to write this for the last few months. Father and son team who do an amazing job. I moved back in March and spent weeks pricing other moving companies. Jim was upfront and clear about their pricing, which was very fair. The day of the move, they were on time and had my 1 bedroom apartment moved in just a few hours. Everything was packed and wrapped with extreme care. If I move again, they will be the first people I call. I would recommend them to anyone!
