I scheduled a move with The Aussie Movers/The Better Moving Company about 3 weeks before my move was scheduled to happen on July 29th. When I asked for a quote and set up my appointment, the people that worked with me were fantastic and I had no problems whatsoever. The week before my move I thought I'd touch base with them and check about moving materials and arrival times. I had heard from people that they were also hard to get ahold of so I wanted to get a backup number incase there were any problems day of. I called for a couple days in a row and didn't get an answer to my calls or voicemails. I started to get a bit worried and called from a new number I had never called them from before and they answered (could be coincidental but who can be sure). On the phone, again, they were amazing. My few questions were answered and when I asked for a phone number I was assured that because I was the first move of the day, there was NO WAY I would have any issues.Flash forward to the next morning at 8am when I receive a call from one of the drivers saying they had gotten into a car accident in the truck and the company's other truck was in the shop getting repaired. I am of course sympathetic to this sort of situation and called the office to try to see what I could do because I needed to be out of my apartment that day. No one answered the phone. I left voicemails (which have still not been returned). And finally I called the driver back and asked for his boss's cell number which also led me to a voicemail where I left another message (which has also still not be returned). So I was literally left with nowhere to go and no assistance and I eventually paid $200 over what I would have with TAM/TBMC to set up movers to get me out of my apartment by the end of the day. At 10:45 I finally received an email from a person named Joe that said "Hello Amber,   As you may have been notified we had an issue with a vehicle accident this morning. We are working to remedy the situation by securing a rental vehicle. If we are able to secure one (which is incredibly difficult due to  very high demand and limited inventory of rental vehicles) your scheduled service will be completed today. If not we would be able to reschedule your service to tomorrow if that is an option for you. We will keep you posted on our progress. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."I then responded to them mentioning the inconvenience that had been caused by a complete lack of communication and asked for someone to contact me to further discuss the matter and of course have since heard nothing which has brought me to this moment. It was really a horrible experience.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been reaching out to rectify an issue with The Aussie Movers, and have not received a response to my multiple phone calls and emails. This proves a lack of integrity and business ethics. While the actual movers were pleasant, I am appalled at the lack to responsiveness from the claims department to reasonable concerns. Continue reading to learn about my experience.THE SITUATION- Hiring a moving company was my gift for to my family (consisting of my mother, sister, and 2 small children). - I had two goals that I articulated via email correspondence prior to AND during the walk through on the relocation day.#1 Remain within my budget (5 hrs worth)#2 Prioritize transport of the furniture and heavy boxes- Explanation of priority #2: The Aussie Movers' was one component of a "divide and conquer" effort. I hired The Aussie Movers to move the furniture and heavy boxes while my family would move boxes in our SUVs. - The foreman assured me that they would be able to move the furniture AND all of the boxes. So he opted for the traditional loading system of boxes first, furniture last which was explained as an industry standard. As the professionals, I trusted their judgement as long as it did not compromise the furniture transport goal- and stated that outright.  - 3 hours in, it was clear that loading that the boxes took up valuable space in the truck and not all of the furniture would make the cut. The movers tried to course correct yielding 5 HOURS of loading and re-organizing. THE PROBLEM- In the reorganization, the movers removed some furniture from the truck - items too large to fit into our cars. This meant my family spend $350 to rent a u-haul truck and convince family friends to help the following day. - As you remember, my budget only allowed for 5 hours. However, the loading an reorganizing took 5 hours alone. I had to stretch my budget by 1 hour to ensure my family had ONE assembled bed to sleep in that night and asked the mover to stop the clock that point.Imagine my disappointment! After the stress of moving, I wanted my family to sleep peacefully in their new home and, because of my choice in moving company, that was not the case. That very night, I emailed The Aussie Movers with more details than is written here and requested a correspondence about my experience and discussion of fair next steps. I have called 10 times and left messages in hopes of settling this matter amicably. It is clear that they are ignoring my request leaving me no choice but to publicize my experience.

I have used Aussie movers in the past, twice actually, and they had been great back then. I set up my 3rd move with an arrival window of 12-4 on a Saturday. Had my whole apt packed up and ready to go. 12 passes... 1... 2, I call and no one answers. 3, call again, no answer. 4 comes and goes and still no movers, no call, no information about what happened. I have everything in boxes and now I have to find new movers last minute for tomorrow, and a place to sleep tonight as my bedding is all packed. This lack of communication is highly unprofessional.
