its really quite shocking how these guys have anything less then a 5 star rating. . when my mom was moviig from arizona to San Diego she asked that i help her move. i did some shopping around and got a few quotes and after speaking with the staff at Silver van lines i felt confident they would do a good job.I'm glad i went with my gut because these guys went above and beyond to help us move. their office always communicated with us timing and the guys who came to the house were super nice. i have a friend who's also moving to san diego soon and I'll be sure to recommend these guys thanks again!

Do not trust this company. My wife and I moved from CA to MD back in December 2016 and it was a complete nightmare. They quoted us for around 1500 for the move and even said if we wanted to ship extra stuff there would be room for that. Now I know a quote is not exact and things are subject to change, I am reasonable and would not hold SVL accountable if they charged my around 1800 or even 2k on the day of the move. Again we were quoted for 1500 and on the day of the move, AFTER 90% of our stuff was in the van they then said it would be 2800. This is illegal as per DOT regulations state that on the day of the move the agreement of final rate of pay should be discussed before the van is loaded, and if it is loaded then it must be reasonable. Quoting 1500 and changing it to 1800,1900 or 2k is completely reasonable but to change it upwards of 1200 dollars over the quoted price after my household goods are in the truck? That is criminal. Filed a complaint with DOT shortly after. Received an email from SVL asking me to get my wife's comment off of Yelp and agree to pursue no legal action, and they'll compensate me a few hundred bucks; I gladly declined because I still want to move forward with this issue in court. Save yourself the time, problems and headache and just go with a different company, any company but not Silver Van Lines.

- movers charged twice the estimate and didn't give a revised estimate until everything was packed- paid to have everything disassembled and reassembled but on arrival " we didn't take it apart can't put it back together"- paid an extra $275.00 for my safe but it was to heavy for them to move into the house so I get to move it- called a well in advance for delivery and was told on 13 different occasions it will be there tomorrow. Finally received a partial shipment. - paid $150 to have them pack my flat screen to watch the movers drop and break it in front of me.- multiple missing items and all boxes look completely smashedTotal disappointment

I originally had written a review on this company regarding them doubling the price of our move on moving day (from about $5,800 to about $11k) - AFTER they had already packed all our stuff in their trucks.  I had tried to get resolution from them and they basically said "too bad" until I put a negative review on yelp, and filed complaints with the Department of Transportation and the Better Business Bureau .  After my reviews and complaints, they contacted me and offered to finally try to resolve my issues if I would remove my review.  We had come to an agreement on the moving price, and then after that they tripled the price of my storage (a MONTH AND A HALF after picking up my stuff).  Now they won't return my emails and we are getting close to delivery time.  Today I followed up with the DOT and am going to be filing a second complaint regarding the second violation, as well as a second (and different complaint with the BBB).  I have also contacted my credit card company.  We are also contacting the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General.  If we can't get it resolved from there, we're hiring an attorney and going to sue them.  I have consistently reached out to them to find a fair resolution.  They haven't returned a contact since February 23rd, despite repeated attempts.  My husband has reached out to a number of his media contacts and is requesting that a local television company interviews us about our experience and does some research on their business.  Every time we speak to someone, we get a different story.  I have asked them to have ALL correspondence in writing.  If anyone at Silver Van Lines is reading this - I want to get this resolved with you - but you have to do your part!  Please contact me IN WRITING to get this all resolved....  THANK YOU!

Do not use them! This has been the worst experience ever. They promised to help make my move from California to Arizona easy and stress free...WRONG! Where to begin the estimate they gave me doubled after packing up all my items. Additional packaging materials are extra they changed me $180 for packaging tape, I packed all my own boxes for a 1500 square foot house so that tape was just on the large furniture they packed 3 beds, 2 night stands, my kitchen table and a few other awkward sized items. In the contact it states they will dissemble and reassemble large items well not true we put our beds back together after they dropped off our belongings. So many boxes came back damaged my boxes I marked as fragile just tossed around I had broken glass a lot of broken glass. Our 70 inch TV was dropped in front of my husband the guy said "oh my hands are sweaty" so now our $1500 TV is trashed. Oh and missing items any thing of value that could be sold is gone! Power tools, my sons pro scooter, my husbands guitars, and I had boxes ripped open so they could peek inside. Customer service couldn't even tell me where my stuff was being stored, that made me feel so uneasy that they could tell me where my stuff was. And trying to get them to commit to a delivery date that was a joke! I heard so many excuses and promises of the next day it should be there...and when it did show up I had hoped to be done with this company but now we have to fight to be reimbursed for broken and missing items. Save your self the stress and worry go through another moving company don't think that you are saving a few extra dollars by go with Silver Van Lines The Best Movers god what false advertising! I feel that all of our personal belonging that make our house home were treated with no respect but tossed around like trash. I only gave them one star because I had to they didn't deserve that.
