Moved after 37 years in the same house. A representative came out & detailed what I had to move, how far the travel would be & gave me a set price. So nice to know exactly how much it would cost beforehand. They did an excellent job of protecting my furniture. Set everything up in my new home 80+ miles away, as I requested. Keith, Fernando & Andrew were polite & professional. They even put a door on for me at my old house & took my trash cans to the curb. Now that's service beyond expectations.

We have moved with movers several times in the last 10 years in different parts of the country and I have to say our experience with this company was terrible. A representative came to our home to estimate and give us a binding moving and packing price for our 2-bedroom. We chose this company because the quote was flat, binding and contractual. We requested both packing and moving of our home and storage unit from Playa Vista, CA to Manhattan Beach, CA. The movers worked at their own pace (slow!), took their first break after only an hour after they arrived. They took three breaks in total, one for lunch (we treated them to pizza, per suggestion by Shlepper's) before they stopped all work for about an hour and asked for more money. At this point, all our stuff from the storage was outside the unit and our apartment was mostly packed and in the truck. We decided not to pay and asked movers to leave our stuff in the storage unit if they didn't want to take the stuff. The excuse was that this was more than they expected to move and their truck was full (which it was not, btw - it was badly arranged). We had not added anything additional after the estimation (in fact, we had thrown out some of that stuff) so it was not fair to have to deal with this drama. The estimator was unreachable. Eventually, I threatened to sue and the movers decided to take everything to our new home and unload. (Probably they feared losing out of the 15% tip that we had to pay, as suggested by Shleppers). They also broke a few things, didn't even tell us. Some of our expensive furniture chipped. We also had to pack few things ourselves, the movers just forgot to take things from under the kitchen sink as well as the master bathroom! This was not a hassle-free move. The whole point of going for a binding quote is to avoid this stress of negotiation, so I will not recommend this company to anyone. Go with United or Flat Rate if you are looking for professional movers.

We witnessed one of the worst experience of our life with Shleppers. We just wanted to move our stuff from Los Angeles to Sunnyvale which is like hardly 6 hours drive.Guess what, Shleppers took 15 days to move from LA to Sunnyvale with no information whatsoever about the location of our stuff. As a result we had to sleep on floor for 15 days, eat in restaurants etc and this has affected our both mental and physical health significantly. Shleppers is easily one of the worst companies of the world. After 15 days we got our stuff and guess what, foreman bluntly tell us that they will not assemble our stuff because they don't have tools with them. This is not just it, they charged me extra at the end saying that parking is too far from the house, which is false. I showed them closest parking and they refused to park there citing bogus traffic and their own company rules. As a result they parked far away from my house and charged me extra for that.I am just happy that now Shleppers is out of my life, and peace is back. @Shleppers, if you want to improve your business then close your business and spare your customers from all the mental and physical stress. Thanks for your screwed up service.@Yelpers, take my suggestion and stay away from this fraud company.

This is an update to my damage claim with Shleppers.May 1, 2017I waited over 30 days to follow up with Shleppers about my claim damage and was appalled to find out their Insurance Company is offering me $15 to fix the nightstand they damaged that will cost $470 to fix. They are also offering $1.20 for 2 missing lampshades.Now, I paid Shleppers $3,747.50 in cash for my move! They did not have to wait for a check to clear or charges to clear .. they got their cash in their hands to the tune of $3,747.50.But more appalling even is what customer service sent me ... word for word ...."The offer for $50 as a "good will" gesture is still being offered but would require you to remove the Yelp Review or change it's status to "Satisfied" or "Resolved".How in the world is this just? After spending $3,747.50 for the move, and they don't deny they damaged the nightstand, they are offering me $50? Shleppers expects me to spend another $420 if I accept their measly $50 offer to fix the nightstand they damaged provided I remove the review or change it to Satisfied or Resolved? What kind of strong arm tactic is this?I am NOT looking to get rich off of this .. I simply want them to pay for what it will cost to fix the damage they caused. I paid them $3,747.50 in cash on the spot ... is it unreasonable to expect them to do the right thing?

(Part 1 of the move):Moving from my parents to the place I'm currently in was not too bad, but I didn't realize how stressful it was moving from LA to NYC. Finding the right apartment and the right people to move your stuff is very hectic! I did a lot of research in choosing the right moving company and comparing quotes. I settled for Shleppers since it was recommended to me by my friend, and their quote was somewhat reasonable. Originally they quoted me at 1595, and had asked me what I was moving. I told them just my bedroom stuff and a few boxes. They had made an appointment with me to check out exactly what I was taking. A couple of days later, one of the employees came to get an exact inventory of what I was shipping out, and was told that it'll only cost me $1100. I told them I was only taking 5 boxes and few of my kitchen stuff and my bedroom set. Tip for whoever is reading this....BE EXACT WITH THE NUMBER OF BOXES. If you must, high ball it! If you think you'll only have 5 boxes, just tell them 10. Because if you don't end up using that total amount of boxes, you'll get your money back. That was my mistake. I told them 5 and I ended up with 9 and my total price came out to $1497 (somewhere along those lines). Also, I kept adding onto my inventory from the original which bumped up my price. I didn't realize I had so much shit! The good thing about this is that you pay only half (the first half of the move). The rest is when they arrive to the destination. I scheduled the arrival date to be June 3rd. If they are late......I just don't know what I'll do in my empty NYC apartment without my bed.....and no I'm not sleeping on the floor. (Part 2, update)It is now June 4th. They still haven't contacted me regarding ETA of my furnitures. Knocked out a star. Not pleased at all. FINAL IMPRESSION:I am NOT pleased with this company. Not only did they come a couple days late, but I also received my belongings with a few boxes opened and one of my favorite lamp was damaged and destroyed. I know LA to NYC is a long distance. But seriously, WTF!!!!! Handle with care! Regardless of how long the distance is. Not only that, they charged me way more than expected. Luckily, the guy who delivered my things was very nice and helpful. If it wasn't for him I would give this company negative ZERO stars!!! Ugh!!!!! Livid!!!
