I have referred Rene's many times to friends and clients, and I have personally used their services to move me.  My experience is that they are professional, experienced movers that provide service that has always exceeded expectations.  When they helped me move, they took great care to make sure that everything was packed securely, and consequently our move was a successful one.  Being a realtor, I meet many people who need a moving company that they can depend on to help move them on schedule. I am very careful about recommending  a service  company to a client, because a good and a bad experience will reflect on me.   Everyone that I have referred to Rene's have all been very happy with their service.  I will continue to recommend Rene's to my clients in the future.

Sorry to say this but...happened in Sept. 2012 so am a bit fuzzy on the exact details but the gist is correct:Had a delivery from Malibu to Los Angeles, was told it should not exceed a certain amount and that the charge was based on the time of pickup to time of delivery. (Based on the time of day it seemed like plenty of time to do it.)  Although the delivery had to be in L.A. at a certain time, the pickup was late: this apparently due to bad mapquest directions, taking them through downtown L.A. then to pch at Santa Monica instead of going via the 101 through the valley then to Malibu Cyn or Kanan.  Pretty dumb considering where they came from and the time of day! The kids doing the pickup then told me the amount that had to be paid . I balked as it was not what I was told in the initial estimate. One of them called  his supervisor / dispatcher and put me on, only for me to hear him say "don't put him  (me) on" the phone.  (He thought his employee was still on the line.) Finally said he'd take a half hour off, although it was still in excess of what it should have been. I clocked when they arrived and they even subtracted 10 minutes or so from the correct time.  The delivery made it in time to its destination, and the time taken was within the parameters of the original estimate. I truly think since so much time was wasted by taking the wront route getting to the pickup, the company decided to pass the charge on to me. So if you use them, make sure you are very clear on their policies and hold them to it. I was stressed to get the delivery made as it was running late so I did not make a stink at the time. Just found their bill lying around so am compelled to write this.

As I Realtor, I found this experience really disturbing.  I would never use or recommend Rene's Van & Storage to a client or friend.  My experience was awful.I used Rene's  to move from Beverly Hills to West Hollywood.  Mark Schnaid, the move coordinator, had been professional and clear prior to my move date.  The morning of, Ricardo and Greg showed up at 8:50 ready to begin my 9:00 move.  Ricardo said something to the tune of the following: "I would decline the insurance coverage for now.  If anything breaks we'll just change it after the move.  That way, you don't get stuck paying for something you don't need."  I thought that was strange, but he seemed really sincere.  Without their knowledge, I photographed the contract with my phone.  I always keep a copy of everything I've signed, even if I'm not immediately presented with one. At the end, Ricardo went to the car to get the paperwork.  I saw that he had filled in fields on the contract after I had signed off on the document in the morning.  He had added an arrival time of 8:30, and he proceed to explain that he waited outside my building for 20 minutes.  This is absolutely false.  He had my number.  If he had called it, I would have buzzed him in.   He also explained that it would take them a while to drive back to the pickup destination (it is less than a mile away) and that there was 30 minutes of drive time (not true).  It was very obvious that he was just trying to jack up the bill, and very obvious that he was trying to present me with the document he had altered with the hope I would glance over it and cut a check for any amount.  I questioned the bill, and he quickly moved to correct it as he realized I knew he had made the changes. Unfortunately, the movers were reckless with my belongings.  A $5,000 italian leather sectional was damaged in two places because Ricardo moved it upright by himself, dragging it along a wood floor before wrapping it in blankets.  A TV was smashed.  A safe was damaged because Greg and Ricardo left it in a cabinet and just taped around the outside of the cabinet to keep it shut.  About $2,500-$3,000 worth of damage.I reached out to Mark Schnaid.  He asked I put everything in writing.  He then conducted an "investigation" where he supposedly interviewed both Ricardo and Greg.  Both movers completely lied about absolutely everything they had done incorrectly.  They denied any damage, they denied talking me out of the insurance coverage, and denied altering the document after I had signed it.   Mark wrote a very callous email back accusing me of lying & damaging the furniture after they left.   I'm a successful agent.  Why would I risk my reputation?He wrote the following: "Ben, both Ricardo & Greg did a standard walk through with you after the move. Together with you, they inspected every piece and you signed off on everything being in good condition. It was at this time that the damages photographed by you would have been very obvious and subsequently noted by our crew and listed on the paperwork. Since nothing was seen during the inspection by either you or our crew, combined with your choice to not pay for additional coverage, Rene's per the agreement can't take responsibility for damages that clearly appear to have occurred after the move."The truth: There was never any walk though.  Greg wasn't even present as the final documents were signed.  Ricardo didn't inspect any furniture. I was told not to get insurance.Regarding the safe, Mark wrote: "According to both Ricardo & Greg, the safe was secured in the cabinet and could not be removed without the doors being taken off. At no time was this option requested from our crew."The truth: The safe was a free-standing object that can easily be lifted right out of the cabinet.  No doors obstruct it.  They knew this. I can prove it is easy to remove. Regarding the TV, Mark wrote: "Greg who helped you move the headboard says that at no time were the TV sets near the headboard."The truth: I was standing next to Greg when he dropped the headboard on the TV which was leaned against the wall. Why would I be moving it?I was offered $0.60/ pound of damaged furniture if Rene's can then keep the property.  That would maybe provide $150 insurance for a damaged leather couch, broken 32" flatscreen, a safe, and a TV cabinet... hardly a help. I'm not sure what is worse: the carelessness with my possessions, lying about time worked, or the unbelievable lies and accusations provided in response to my complaint. I was also really turned off by a story Ricardo shared about moving Will Smith's belongings to storage earlier that week.  Sharing private information like that is never ok.  They've been removed from my office's preferred vendors, and we don't recommend them.

My family and I have used Rene's Van & Storage for many years for many moves. They are the most ethical and professional company I have dealt with in this field. After so many years and so many moves with them, I have established a personal relationship with Marshall, who is delightful. They not only pack and transport belongings in the safest and most efficient manner, but also provide the safest and most reasonably priced storage facility. My family and I have stored valuables, personal belongings, and furnishings with them for years and nothing has ever been damaged or misplaced. I love this company and highly recommend them to anyone looking for insured and bonded quality movers. The staff is friendly and professional and truly a pleasure to work with. Rene's Van & Storage has worked with A-list celebrities and in the highest end high rise residences in the greater Los Angeles area. I have used them in and out of homes and condominiums in high rise buildings. They're fabulous!!!

I had the best and easiest move with Rene's! Their staff showed up on time and professionally dressed in uniforms. They packed up most of my house for me and handled all the fragile items with great care. They  moved fast and worked hard through out the whole move. They provided great customer service and were the most reasonable priced. I would definitely use them again for my next move and storage needs.
