I moved yesterday after living 32 years in my one bedroom apartment. Needless to say, I had a lot of stuff to move. These guys were GREAT!!! My experience with Popeye Moving company from beginning to end was professional, efficient, and trouble free. They arrived on time, and quickly went to work. Had all my belongings moved out in less than two hours. They went over and beyond the call of duty. They had no problem moving a large piece of furniture to a another part of the room after I changed my mind of it's original location. They fixed a tv stand I had broken and asked if there was anything else they could do before leaving. My two friends who helped with my move were equally impressed with their work. I HIGHLY recommend these guys!!!!

I have used movers four times and have never felt so taken advantage of or disrespected. I called several different places for quotes and looked at reviews before deciding on Popeyes. When I booked the appointment I spoke with Mark and he quoted me $588 with drive time estimating that a two bed apartment would take 6 hours approximately to move. He mentioned it could take more or less time. I said ok that's fair. They sent two men but only one man ended up doing most of the work (Ariel who was Hispanic) and he was great; very hard working and respectful. We had to keep checking on the other man (who was white) just to make sure he was working. It was disgusting to see the white man treating Ariel poorly like that and making him do all the work. I actually tipped Ariel separately because I didn't want him to be taken advantage of further. It ended up taking exactly 6 hours but they charged us $686 Instead of $588. I asked why and they said there's an extra hour of drive time? I said I was confused because that's not what I was quoted and felt taken advantage of but we tipped and paid what they asked anyways.I called back today to speak with Mark (he was not available to speak with during the move) and I'm honestly disgusted that a man can speak to a woman that way. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I asked why he neglected to include the extra hour of drive time in the quote and his response was "if you can't understand then I don't even care, use a different company next time you move" "I tell millions of other people exactly what I've told you and no one else has had a problem understanding it, you're the first call I've had like this." He asked what I'd like him to do for me. I respond we would like the $100 back. He says "You are not getting a single penny back. You're acting like a 10 year old child and I don't have time to explain this to you anymore" I tried to share my part but he would not listen and only repeated the same thing over, talked over me, and then hung up on me. He was so rude and tasteless. If you're good with being deceived and treated like shit then use this company. Otherwise, save yourself.

We made the move in April '17.The movers were late by 8 hours. This threw our entire schedule off-track. They did have an excuse that an earlier move was delayed by a homeowners' association. But that shouldn't have affected us. The mover's response was that they threw in an extra person to speed up the move. By the time the movers were done, it was past midnight. We were too tired to check for damages or if every item arrived. We were missing a skateboard after the move.The movers were careless with our boxes. Stephan tossed two large boxes onto his back to take them up the stairs. This was done as if it was on a dare. Well, a box fell down. He simply asked us to file a claim, seemingly not caring much for his actions.There were several dented items or broken legs on book cases. We made the mistake of taking only basic protection for broken items. We would have received a paltry $25 for the items broken during the $1400 move. Stephan was showing displeasure for us not having cold water handy. He balked at filling water from a filter tap which we use.  All in all, it left us with a bitter taste of the experience. The delay, the broken items, the casual disregard to the security of our items makes it one of the worst experience out of the seven or so moves we've had in the past decade.I'm taking the trouble of writing this review so that others may know what they are getting into.

I would like to thank Popeye moving and storage for helping making my move to my new apartment a painless experience. The services rendered were impeccable and trustworthy. The crew are very helpful and courteous. Stefan and his team did an amazing job!! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for good movers around the LA area. Sent from my iPhone

Our family a truly terrible and traumatic experience with Popeye Moving & Storage.  Not only did they break several valuable pieces of furniture but it also during our move a safe filled with extremely valuable family heirlooms, hard drives containing baby photos, jewelry and other treasured items was stolen--at a time when only Popeye's Moving & Storage employees had access to the apartment.   Popeye's Moving & Storage has done absolutely nothing to address this and it's owner Stefan has refused to release the last names of the people on the moving crew who are now being investigated by the Santa Monica Police Department.  Soon we will be filing a civil lawsuit in addition to the criminal investigation.  Our hope is to stop Popeye Moving & Storage from victimizing more families.
