When I decided to move I started shopping for moving companies and got some pretty outrageous quotes...until I called All My Sons!  They quoted me $89 an hour with the standard one hour fee and estimated that it would take 2-3 hours to move my one bedroom apartment.  This was right on track with my previous experiences, and far better rates than the $125-180 an hour that some of the popular moving companies quoted me.I was impressed immediately by their communication:  Within a half hour of requesting a quote online I received a very friendly call from one of their employees.  I explained my needs, he gave me a breakdown of their rates, but then he asked a few probing questions to find out my exact situation (how many furniture pieces, an estimate of boxes, upstairs, distance between locations, etc.) before he gave me an estimate.  He told me that with one truck and two men it would take about 3 hours, but likely less.  I let him know that I had a few other places to follow up with and he was very polite and even gave me some tips on what to ask about!  Unlike the other companies I called, he didn't call me multiple times a day, every day, for a week trying to book my move (one of the most popular places called me 6 TIMES in one day trying to get me to commit!).  He followed up once and then let me call him back when I was ready.  I appreciated the lack of pressure, he wasn't trying to sell me anything. When I did call to schedule my move they made it super easy with clear questions, a solid estimate, and great communication.Two days before my move they followed up with me to confirm everything, and the day of the move (I scheduled for the afternoon) they let me know the window in which they would arrive and called me again to let me know when they were about 20 minutes out.  When they arrived, I was super surprised because instead of two guys and a truck, they brought four!  They assured me that I would not be charged for the extra labor, they just happened to all be out together for the first move, so they decided to just get my move done quickly.All the movers were very professional and nice.  They came in, assessed the situation and made a plan.  They were very efficient but also took the time to be friendly and even took special notice of my cat.  They were very careful with my possessions and I really appreciated that they looked out for my cat (he was in a carrier) and took care not to scare him.  He's a rather impressively large cat, and each of the movers took a second to greet him and let him get his sniffs.  I'm a crazy cat lady, so I loved that they were kind to my cat and approached him gently.It turned out that after 7 years in the same place, I had a liiiittle more stuff than I initially thought, but with the four movers (even taking time to be careful) it only took then 2.5 hours to get everything moved and staged the way I wanted!  The move went very smoothly and none of my possessions were damaged, even my vast collection of ceramic and glass pots (I garden) made it through without so much as a chip.I definitely recommend All My Sons and if I move again they will be the only place I even bother to call!  Everyone else had much higher hourly rates, multiple fees, high pressure sales, and quoted me a minimum of 6 hours!  Save yourself some time and just call All My Sons!

Bait and switch.  That's the best way to describe these guys.  I was quoted a fixed price for moving things so when they came and worked slowly, I mean it is pretty obvious they were dragging their feet.  I've hired many movers in my life and in my 20 years of hiring movers, I've never seen anyone move this slow.  Not only did they move slow, they decided to wrap my furniture 10 times and did it at a snail's pace.  I didn't complain at first because I was quoted a fix price.When they finished, they actually said it was by the hour and $144.00/hr at that for 3 guys.  This was the first time I heard of that.  The whole job on day 1 took 9 hours including driving time.  However they charged me an extra hour for driving, even though 9 hours already included driving time.  They said this is their standard practice (of bilking customers).If I had known, I would have hired much cheaper and honest movers.  Total cost for a local move, $2,900.  They quoted about $1,300.  They even had the nerve to ask me for a review.  So here it is.  They even asked for a tip saying that most people are too cheap to give them one.  I could have hired guys in front of home depot for $500.

I wish I could give these guys a better review, but unfortunately, there are a few issues I have with this company.First of all, trustworthy, reliable moving companies are hard to find.  I've had more than one out of state move,and have had stuff stolen every time.  These guys did not steal from me, but I did have some of my furniture damaged beyond repair, which, um...sucks.My main complaint though is their procedure of basically strong-arming the client (you) into giving them a 5-star review before they depart after the move.  They do it remotely via iPad.  First of all, I would NEVER have given this company 5 stars, not by a long Shot!  But the foreman actually stood there in front of me and clicked the 5 star "button" for me and then insisting I write a glowing review.  This practice is totally unethical, and I do plan on reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau because of it.Also, the move guys and the office staff are absolutely not on the same page, in fact, one wonders if they communicate with each other at all, because I got totally conflicting information from each, i.e.: office told me the movers would be at my house at 8am to move me, but the idiot movers didn't show up till almost noon!No, if it wasn't for the crazy practice of forcing the client into a positive review, I could give this company a better review.  Bummer.

After doing research and talking with all my sons, they seem like they're trustworthy and the quote was great. The day before my move out a gentleman called me to confirm and said my move would need another mover and that my rate was going to be higher and that my storage was going to need more space and charged me for A third unit without coming to see what I have and I thoroughly explained everything during the initial quote, however, I wanted things done right and went forward with the company. The day of move out the three gentleman asked me about tipping them an hour into it, as there were leaving I was charged not what I was quoted so I had to call and talk to somebody to get that adjusted and was still $500 more than I had expected. I stored my items for a month and at move-in they said they started an hour earlier on the paperwork then they actually did, the move out was $1150 yet my move in was $315, so I am not sure how that calculated but I am now feeling ripped off the original move out. Absolutely all of my wooden furniture was not wrapped properly and had to have a wood repair man come out to fix my dresser, bed is broken, kitchen table, all my picture frames are broken, the glass in them, A side table my grandpa had made, and when they moved into my new place the furniture was in the wrong rooms and it was a mess, boxes that said fragile or top were flipped over and sideways. I know that moving has wear and tear alone and we had that as well, but this is above and beyond. I've been working with multiple managers for a month now and have been reimbursed nothing besides the time I was overcharged and the items that are missing which I had to go to the store and buy myself but nothing for the broken items or inconvenience. They never called back or follow through on their word even though they seem very helpful, a couple people have been very nice but in reality nothing is getting done to compensate the experience. Was supposed to receive a call yesterday from Ron to finalize this crappy experience and he didn't call one again, I guess that's what will consist of today.
