I normally like to give a company the benefit of having a bad day... but no, just NO! There have been far too many screw ups, broken, damaged,mis-treated and just plain negligent occurrences in this move for me not to speak up.If you are making a PCS out of San Antonio and TMO sends Towne Services/Wheaton Moving to pack you out...RUN, don't walk, RUN back to TMO and tell them NO WAY, you want someone else! You have the right to choose who packs you out. Do not settle for second rate companies. I was told these guys were the best and that they've been using them over 20 years... Well it's time for some fresh blood because these people do not care how items go into a box or onto a truck! The driver called us three days before arriving and said he was having his prescription drugs sent to our house and could we be sure to put them aside for him...??? ... Seriously? Then when they didn't show up in time he asked if I could mail them on to his next address. This company, the BS excuses they tell you and the mismanagement, poor service, crappy communication and just general disregard for our belongings... In 23 years, 5 countries and 9 moves with foreign  language barriers (one that took us from Italy to Japan) and we have NEVER had so much damage, so many misplaced items, such lazy unprofessional and unconcerned packers. For our 2400 sq. ft. 4/BR home ... I was told it would take three days to "pack" us out with another two to inventory and load. I was told there would be two packers since it would just be me to manage them. They showed up with five people, One regular and 4 trainees! They started in the rooms we were still to be occupying even after they told me they would start with the kitchen (which I prepared for). They refused to take any candles and so they created a box where they literally threw the candles into it breaking the glass and the wax of several expensive and as yet unused pillars from Pottery Barn that were over $36.  Just because you can't ship them doesn't mean I want them broken! With that being said they actually packed my year old firewood and open food containers even though they were marked not to pack, and I was told also couldn't be shipped! I revceived one box that had an open container of syrup spilled through out. Then they left behind expensive items and the stands for all three TV's that I had to ship myself. They were finished with the actual packing in ONE day and inventory in two hours the next! They left so many items un-packed that the drivers wouldn't load them and the inspectors had to send out a second group of packers and arrange for a second truck shipment. I have 22 pages of inventory from two separate shipments with three different colors of stickers to account for. Townes told me I didn't have any items to claim as high dollar and crossed that page off the list. The second group came and I ended up with three pages of high value...carpets, piano, artwork, cameras and misc. items.I now have three large boxes filed with not just broken... SHATTERED items. Boxes marked "kitchen plasticware" weighed 30+ pounds and contained antique artifacts. Antique books were "thrown" in with towels, their pages and bindings bent and damaged. There are some items it is clear they made a game out of mis packing!  I had linens stored in plastic that they opened and then shoved the plastic in with them.  I had brand new items still packaged that they opened and then separated into separate boxes... I had clothing from my closet mixed with clothing from my husbands work closet, and when I say mixed it was like Groucho Marx did the packing... two shirts from mine, two shirts from his, two shirts from mine, two shirts from his... SERIOUSLY who has time for that? They placed fragile artwork at the top of  dish pack boxes where they obviously became broken... Steel pots were placed in boxes with antique mercury glass ... that hadn't been wrapped... all shattered and now a box full of glass. They wedged drawers from chests into a box as a liner and then when the box got crushed so did the drawer. Why was it even removed from the chest? Furniture that should have been wrapped,  but wasn't, was shoved into the truck and scratched, gouged and broken...OH, but they tried to cover themselves for that by using double stickers so they could list every available code they have at their disposal to mark my items damaged before moving. I caught them and crossed almost two full pages of furniture damages off and told them they weren't getting away with it! WORST...Absolutely the worst inventory move our our entire military career!
