It's never an easy process with this company. We leave voicemails. No return phone calls. The warehouse manager Mitch makes life difficult and frustrating. We arrive to pickup shipments for dock pickup and they refuse to load us using a ramp. They've completely boxed themselves into their warehouse and half their bay doors are unusable. Many times we've had to leave due to time delay and lack of service. Once, we sat in the lobby waiting for assistance and the receptionist leaves apparently on lunch break without telling anyone. We sit for 35 minutes before we have to search the offices for someone to follow through with getting us loaded. I'd give anything if our carriers used any other company other than A1 Freeman.

This business puts on a good front from a Sales perspective, but they are lacking the professionalism one would expect and require from a full service mover being paid several thousand dollars.  For this move, I packed all of my household goods except large furniture pieces, my television, and a bedroom mirror. I would advise you not to purchase the TV pack; they use a piece of material and the equivalent of a saran wrap to pack your TV in box. If it breaks and they pack it, you have less of a risk, but I would hardly say the service is worth the fee of $130! When my household goods arrived to my new home, A-1 Freeman had opened some of my boxes and repacked them without my consent. It would seem that A-1 Freeman decided to conserve space when crating, but decided to be unethical with their methods of doing so.  Three of my wardrobe boxes packed by me were opened and A-1 Freeman randomly shoved boxes or bar stools at the bottom of the boxes. I made this discovery when I noticed that there was handwriting not done by me on boxes I packed, a lack of tape put on the bottom of the boxes, and more than one inventory sticker on the boxes. I taped all of my box tops/bottoms using the h-tape method.  I'd like to say that this was the only repacking done after pickup, but it was not! On my furniture pieces, A-1-Freeman decided to use the top of my sofa, and another chair as holding place for boxes. This was not how my items were packed when I saw them loaded on the truck.  In addition, the numbering started by A-1 Freeman at the point of pickup was thrown off by this ridiculous shuffle.   On top of all of this, they arrived late for picking up and my delivery was 3 days late arriving.  The only bright bulb in this was the Allied Van Lines driver that delivered my shipment, and Mitch's effort to get my shipment to me sooner because North American Van Lines had not available drivers....Did I mention my shipment sat on a dock in San Antonio for  OVER 7 DAYS? By which time, I had already driven 1200 miles to my new home. Buyers stay away from this company and North American Van Lines. You are better off moving yourself.
