Door to Door made moving way more stressful than it needed to be, and I would definitely NOT recommend that you use their company. My fiancé and I recently moved and wanted to get a pod to take our stuff for us. We had a booked a pod with them two months in advance, and were told that they would have someone drive the pod to our apartment, load our stuff for us, and then they would drive it to Colorado. Sounded like a great deal. Just to make sure everything was as planned, we called 8 days ahead of our reservation and they told us that everything was still set and they would be there on the scheduled date. Two days later (so 6 days before our reservation), they called and said there was a "data validation error" and that they did not have a pod available to be dropped off on our scheduled day. When we asked what they could do to remedy this, they gave us solutions that included: coming a week later when we would no longer be in Houston, bringing all of our stuff in our cars to their storage facility, or us renting a Uhaul to take all of our stuff to their storage facility (which is 45 minutes away from where we live). These solutions were going to force us to take time off from work, deal with renting a Uhaul also, and more stress than we hoped to have since we booked this way ahead of time. We talked back and forth with the company about what would be less stressful for us hoping they would accommodate. It ended up that we were going to have to take a day off of work, rent a Uhaul, and take all of our stuff to their storage facility. We had asked for them to take some of the price off since they were the ones that made the mistake and they were making this more of a hassle for us. Each day we talked they always ended the call with, "Well I will have to talk to someone else about that and get back to you tomorrow," leaving us with less and less time before moving to figure out a back-up if necessary. 4 days before moving, they called us back with a discount that wasn't even going to cover how much we would miss from each having to take a day off of work, and made no indication that they knew this was their fault and were trying to make up for it. We ended up finding another company that had a pod available, showed great customer service, and was willing to make sure that they didn't put anymore stress onto our moving experience.Overall, they made moving very stressful and I would not recommend using Door to Door.
