I contracted through Coleman American for Allied Van Lines move with load up in Houston for delivery in California.  Delivery was "split" because of failure of company to properly estimate space needed for some other load, resulting in a truck which was too full to accommodate all of my items.  My Driver initially planned to "tailgate" several mattresses on the outside of the 18 wheeler, but I declined this approach. The Driver sat again (after being warned that he was ripping the silk fabric) on a delicate custom chair, further ripping out the fabric. Movers destroyed 17th century antiques -- broken into more than half dozen pieces, smashed glass, and multiple pieces were damaged. Upon arrival and unloading in California, the Driver refused to put together all the beds and table despite our agreement with Coleman American that they do so.  I ended up paying local contractors to complete this work. Mattresses, box springs, and numerous other items did not arrive until three days after the contractual deadline.  I still have not received a valuable, one of a kind, large Oriental dining rug and, as far as I know, no effort is being made by Coleman American to recover my property.  They do not return emails or phone calls.This same inventory has been moved by reputable and professional intra-state companies three times in the last six years. Unfortunately, this move was interstate and I decided to use a national company,  Allied Van Lines -- a big mistake.

I hate that I even have to give them a star because they don't deserve any! LISTEN TO ME PEOPLE, IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR BELONGINGS MISSING/STOLEN DO NOT USE THEM!!!! We unfortunately didn't have a say in what company to use because the U.S. NAVY hired them and I worried the second we saw their truck pull up and went on yelp to read their reviews and well let's just say they held up to their bad reviews. Our brand new Samsung 68 in TV went missing when another moving company brought us our stuff! I feel so violated, man the NAVY really needs to read these reviews before they hire any moving company and I hope that they drop them from ever doing business again with them. This business needs to be shut down plain and simple! Well jokes on them though cause although they got a free nice tv, we'll submit a claim to the Navy while hopefully they go out of business!!!!

I would NOT recommend this moving company to anyone! When I made my move from Austin to Houston I used this company. I had them put my stuff in storage here in Houston until my lease started 2 months later bc I wasn't moving into my apartment right away, and then scheduled them to move all my stuff into my apartment once my lease had started. When they came to pick up my stuff in Austin they were 3 hours late, and then when I was moving into my apartment in Houston they were 5 hours late!! When they finally showed up I found my dresser was broken! They also did not fail to scratch the walls while moving everything in. To top it all off.... after they had moved everything in, my lamp shade to my floor lamp was missing.
