All Purpose Movers

Moving is stressful.  It's not just about the furniture swapping places - the thousands of books, hundreds of plates and bowls, cups - but before that there is the packing, and afterward the unpacking - then, of course, switching utility bills and addresses on every card and account in existence - Doesn't it get stressful just thinking about it?  Now add the Houstonian heat in July to that mix, and if there were a blood pressure measurer next to the barometer, you'd see humidity, temperature, and blood pressure all rise. But Pedro sings as he packs.  He and Alex laugh and say "be careful" (in Spanish anyway, and yes, I understand it) as they move the big pieces.  I've never seen people work so happily with perpetual smiles on their faces, in any setting.  To top it off, they're so polite.  Victor's crew is made of really, really, good people.  And they're efficient.  It's a wonder how they pack so much strength into their bodies.  They worked tirelessly for two days and cleaned up the third day as the ladies of the crew came and helped unpack books.  The women weren't as kindly as the men but I won't knock off a star for that. My family loved Victor's crew so much that we recommended them to my aunt who is moving next week.  They don't negotiate - Victor visits in advance and gives a price - but he says with such conviction that he offers the best price, and he has enough clientele, so we went with his crew and were more than satisfied.  The stress reduction during the move alone is worth working with them.  Happy moving!

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate. Victor Nunez, the owner, was scheduled to come out to my home at 9:30 am. Needless to say, after continuous back to back calls to him for at least 30 minutes, Victor finally called back at 10:00 am to tells us he could not make it. He did offer to come out at 11:30 am, do you really think I'm not going to move on to the next moving company?Thanks guys!!! I'm sure you make moving a great experience........NOT! If you can't show up for an appointment to give me an estimate...what makes me think you would show up on time for a scheduled move.BTW: I am a Houston Realtor.....you will not be referred to my clients and colleagues.

This company is terrible.  I had them scheduled to move furniture for weeks in advance.  I even called to confirm a few days prior to the move date.  On the day of the move they did NOT show up nor did he call me to say they were not coming.DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT use this company.  I have never seen a more unprofessional company in my life.  Never!!!!!!

Wow!  Never - ever trust this company. So much to say here, so I will only mention the highlights of this disaster. 1. He was hired to move my very large home to another state through a broker call American Van Lines for which I paid a $3700 deposit to secure a mover.  This was not a small move and I contracted 4 months in advance to secure a mover for the dates I needed.  I did not know that AVL is a broker and that APM is one of their contractors for them until the day before my move. 2. Victor the owner of APM and also the mover/driver called me the day before my move date and asked if I knew of any teenagers that could help him because he was alone. I said "no, I hired a professional moving company to move my things, you need to bring your own professionals for the move".  3. The next day (my move day) Victor showed up late and alone and proceeded to add on things to my contract stating that these other things were not included in the contract.  He also stated that AVL commonly lowballed the estimate to get our business, so it was not his fault and this is business. One thing he wanted to tag onto my contract was for storage fees of $3k. I told him that I am not going to pay for storage because I will be available for delivery as is contracted for and that just because he picked up earlier than he needed to, was not my financial repsonsiblity to pay him for storage.  I told him he needed to stick to the contract for pickup and delivery and that he cannot charge me for storage beyond the contact dates. Victor then told me that he was no longer interested in doing my move because he thought he was ging to make more money because of the storage fees.  His exact words  as he left me high and dry without a mover "this is business m'am".  The bottom line is that these leeches wait until move day and then pray on desperate tired hurried people during their move.  They hope that you will not stand up to them because you are in a predicament to be moved and therefore are not in a position to stand your ground. So they hope that to get more money out of you at the last minute.  My original "unbinding" estimate was for $6600 and Victor wanted to increase it to $11,000. He refuse to move my things unless I signed the new contract and agreed to the new price.

I have used All Purpose Movers 2 times in the past year. I actually just set up a new time just now. I was looking at their reviews which prompted me to add one of my own. I have always been incredibly happy with the work they have done. They are very efficient and never seem to try to waste your time. They are not the fanciest smanciest movers in the world, but they wrap your furniture with plastic, move extremely quickly, and do it with a smile on their faces. Who can ask for more? Also- their rates whip the pants right off anyone else I had called for estimates. A+!
