A-1 Discount Movers

These are some really great *cheap* movers, but you definitely get what you pay for. I had a so/so experience with these guys, so I'll start with the positives first:// ON TIME!!  In fact, they were early. I totally don't expect punctuality from movers.// Free use of wardrobe boxes; this was really helpful in transporting my clothes in the most effective manner.// Free sheetwrap and furniture disassembly + reassembly// One-time trip charge, plus a super competitive hourly rate of $85 (rates may vary) // Really, really nice movers with great attitudes! // Even though there were only two men, they worked suuuuper fast. I was completely moved in 3 1/2 hours. Furniture reassembly included! HOWEVER, if you're looking for a more organized, corporate moving company, A-1 may not be the best choice. It's definitely a smaller company, with a few hicks:// My movers barely spoke English, which created a huge language barrier when trying to communicate where I wanted my furniture placed.// Some of my furniture had small (very minor) nicks. Nothing crazy, but a little annoying. Wrapping could've been better.  // Unfortunately, they cracked my glass-top end table. Now, this was a pretty cheap piece of furniture, so I wasn't totally upset. And the mover was soooo apologetic. He even offered to pay cash for the value, but like I said, it was cheap. He was a nice guy, so I cut him some slack. But imagine if it was one of my more expensive pieces!!Moving can be extremely expensive! I would recommend these guys, despite the hiccups. They aren't the top-of-the-line moving company, but they were very nice, worked quickly, and won't completely destroy your budget, either. Consider moving extremely fragile items yourself (wine glasses, mirrors (if you can!) etc.).
